Hi, apparently our employers are going to issue swipe cards for the workers to use when we use our works toilets in an effort to curb people 'wasting time' in there. Please can anyone advise if this is legal?

Perfectly legal. It will probably be logged when people go in and out of the toilet and what times. There is a company in the office block that I work in that have the same thing using fobs.0

Yes - why wouldn't it be? We are not talking cameras here.
It doesn't show a great deal of managerial trust in their workforce but If you don't like it you can of course resign.Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -

The resignation bit was tounge in cheek but you do occasionally get some rather left wing frothing / wind ups on here along the lines of 'my boss called me in for a meeting during the last 2 minutes of my lunch break and then refused to let me leave work at 5.28 - can I sue?'
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't like it either but I guess ultimately I was curious as to why you questioned it's legality - it's not something that immediately jumps out to me as being an illegal act.Go round the green binbags. Installing the key card system isn't....

But what happens if you are polite and hold the door to the toilets open for each other? How does a swipe card deal with that?0

Imagine if you had the shizzles? Not only do you have to go through the embarrassment of doing that at work but also the shame of having to explain to HR why you were in there for twenty mins every half an hour!House saving Targets:

Hi+thanks for the answers! Ok, we are now on a 4 day week! At the start of the year we gave up 4 of our holidays to cover this Christmas period. This year 2 of those days happen to be fridays(that we now dont work). Our employer has told us that those 2 days holiday will be rolled over to next year. Is this fair being as we accrued said holidays during this current year? Shouldn't they be given back to us?Not yet a total moneysaving expert...but im trying!!0
