The Great Cheap, Safe Fireworks Hunt

Some fireworks ARE rubbish at 25m. On Saturday and sunday I tried two ESCO (a name synonymous in the 80's with dirt cheap chinese and german import fireworks, now making a comeback under the Brightstar banner)Festival selection boxes of fireworks on a BOGOF offer both Cat3,25m £15.99 from Myster Magic Burnley Road Padiham Lancashire, a seasonal twice a year firework shop that opens for Nov5th fireworks season and New Year, and I set them off on an open field and stood 25 metres away, I have to say they were absolutely rubbish at that distance and quite tame. A decent spacious garden would suit these better than to have spectators stand 25m upwind of them, also they were only the size of garden fireworks so what use would they have been at 25m away?0

Hi
As an employee at Aldi I thought I would try the fireworks. I bought one each of the packs and they are of a very very low standard, especially the rockets. My Children were that disappointed they ended up watching TV. I would highly recommend the fireworks from ASDA or from an Independent fireworks specialist shop if you want to pay more. Even better go to a big display. If you live in the North West, the displays in Southport and Blackpool are awesome.;)0 -
Lidl are selling their fireworks from Thurs, 16th. Same stock as last year. I would recommend going there. Netto also are selling fireworks from the 16th. Standard fireworks - very expensive.
Morrisons sell them from the 15th. Here is the link:

Does anyone know if these are the only fireworks they will be selling, because last year they had much more?
Thanks.
Regards.
P.S. Any other recommended shops?0 -
Hii!
Morrisons do actually sell alot more fireworks in-store than what is advertised on their website, Ive seen there range on display in the shops, does look good, but there is alot of Bogof deals, rather than just half the price.
Also, was just wondering if Asda will definitly be selling fireworks this year, as up until Monday our local asda hasn't been advertizing any, or had any on display in store? Seems a bit random the way they aren't displaying any when most other stores, Morrisons & Sainsburys for example are selling from tomorrow! So if anyone has seen any could you please post and confirm, thanks.0 -
My Asda never advertises, but I'm sure they will be selling them. I'm going there tomorrow so will let you know.
If anyone has a copy of the leaflet from Morrisons could they post what's on it please?
Many thanks.0 -
The Dynasty Fireworks are actualy really good for the money.
I myself will be buying some this year form morrisons.
Actualy sat here deciding.
A brilliant buy are the Blue Piranhas, fantastic effect for the money!!0 -
Dan 23-10, Asda are selling fireworks now. Unfortunately I didn't get a leaflet, but it's TNT stuff, and from what I could tell, it's pretty much the same offers as last year - the "Buy 2 for whatever price" thing.0

Does anyone know exactly what Morrisons are selling? If so, could they post it if possible?
I'm thinking of getting the Blue Piranhas too - it does look quite good. Are they doing the 'Singing Birds' cake BOGOF this year?0 -
If you want spuds, go to the supermarkets. If you want quality fireworks go to a reputable shop.

LOL i wonder where PAUL B works! 3 posts SPAMMER!
Does anyone have a scan of the Asda firework leaflet? My nearest Asda is miles away.
Last year i bought theTNT Super finale cake for £20. Voted in the top 10 best fireworks by the Independent. It was almost display standard and left myself and our friends stunned!
I want to get two this year!TNT Super Finale £25 --- BEST BUY
Category 3. This single-ignition barrage was the only one to raise a spontaneous round of applause from our seasoned test audience. Powerful crackles, starbursts and multi-coloured trails are followed by a finale of scintillating, sparkling rain that’s beautiful enough to melt the heart of the toughest Bonfire Night cynic.
