If weco stuff goes rubbish it'll be a shame;on the website their stuff is classified 1.4g including 25carat and Ipanema.

It was classed as 1.4g last year.

Is it on the website now for this year?

just been to the weco website apparently 25 carat is still 1.4g as is ipanema. Enter those cakes into the site search engine;they're still available, the explosive class for both items in the spec is indicated as 1.4g.

Ahh, right, yeah that's the weco website in germany though. It is classed as 1.4g in germany and many other european countries, but in the UK the flash content is lower than germany for 1.4g products.

So without actually seeing one fired it will be hard to tell. :money:

But they do import german standard fireworks to britain and sell through Lidl and have a UK depot in purley surrey Weco Fireworks (UK) Limited from which they distribute. I dont think Ipanema and 25Carat will be banned unless they're dangerous to the public.

It's not about whether they would be banned, because they wouldn't, they're not dangerous, they are superb little fireworks, but the reason they are so good is because they are full of flash and 1.4g fireworks can't be full of flash in the UK (see my post above about the 5%) unless they come in pyro mesh. However as they are full of flash they should have been classified as 1.3g in the UK which makes it harder for places like lidl to store and distribute them.

I hope they can sell them this year and they are the same as last year, but I just can't see them being the same.

  • Ps all you firework guys ive opened a new firework forum because ukfr is just about the worse run forum ive come across and UK pyro society is for homebrew and chemistry of fireworks.

Good idea mate! I'll visit it.
