Hi hope this is of help- noticed in Woolworths today they were putting out fireworks and they have BOGOFs think they were Standard fireworks

    :dance:Carry on Comping
  • Makes me laugh sometimes. There is no way that selection box is worth £45! They make mugs out of the general public!

Even some of the bogof items are available from the cosmic range at half the price.

And to answer someone else post about the explosive content the answer is no, we don't have to give out the figures to the general public.

And poppycat. I can't see any of my posts removed!

So on the one hand, you say the selection boxes are making mugs out of people, and on the other, you refuse to disclose how much explosive you are actually getting for your money.

Doesn't make your mocking of the prices very credible.

There are lots of big fireworks containing a lot of cardboard, and some small-looking ones that contain nothing but powder. So basically the selection boxes are probably all a con, except the smaller ones. Right????
  • I'm looking for cheap fireworks online, looking to spend around £120.. or so, some big barrages and rockets etc..

http://www.discountfireworksdirect.co.uk/ is the cheapest place i can find online, but im still waiting for an email back from them to tell me how much delivery would cost.

they just got back to me, they want £25 for delivery (I said I would want £100-£150 worth of fireworks)
  • There seems to be a lot of people on here commenting on the cost of shipping fireworks so heres some info for you.

    FIREWORKS ARE EXPLOSIVES!

You can't send them through the post! They have to be sent by courier and that courier has to be licensed and all it's drivers have to have special ADR licenses and for this reason there is only one national courier that delivers fireworks.

Not only that, the fireworks have to be transported in special UN cartons and these alone can cost several pounds EACH!

To give you an idea. Our maximum shipping charge is £20 for orders up to £100 and this gets cheaper the more you order, until you get to £300 and it's free.

When we charge you £20 for shipping the actual charge to ourselves is in the region of £30, so we actually SUBSIDISE the shipping.

Now, with the discount sites out there, they aren't going to do this and EPIC don't even want your business if your spending less that £250 which is why they add the £100 delivery charge.

So spare a thought for us retailers who subsidise your orders!
