Oh dear, how did you go from blonde to red? Unless you were more than two shades darker than the colour you were using then you should have used a prelightener first. And if it is brassy or yellow make sure you buy a blonde toner (purple or blue in colour) Superdrug do their own brand for £1.00 which works quite well.

I used it to avoid going to the hairdressers for a few more weeks to get my roots done, I actually quite like it, my hair looks great, roots slightly brassy but after using a toner it was fine. Worth it for free :)

  • Oh no, that shouldn't have happened sorry to hear you had problems with it, I must have been lucky. You will need a green based toner to cancel out the red.

OMG, I'm colouring mine tomorrow.. I've gone for a light beige blonde colour. I'm mainly medium blonde at the minute but my roots are darker.

I may yet see you in Superdrug wearing a hat and looking for the toners

Well have just dyed my hair which I usually get high lighted with foils! The only problem is my roots have gone a strawberry blonde as they were obviously darker than the rest of my hair. Coverage is excellent theough and I am wondering that if I used it agin would the strawberry blonde lighten again! I have some left and am wondering whether to apply it to my roots later? Any ideas?
