    I was 18

So to get the visa, I have to call a £1.20 a min line and to go to London from preston.

I might just risk it and answer no to Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude?

Getting the visa will cost more than the holiday.

Think about it rationally - will it really?

Looking at the criteria for waivers

    1) The risk of harm to society if the applicant is admitted;
    2) The seriousness of the applicant’s prior immigration or criminal law violations (if any); and
    3) The reasons for wishing to enter the U.S.A

    he may be OK.

Yeah, just done my research £70 return virgin train £80 visa and a day trip to London.

I will be gutted if I get refused a visa though.

£150 - I thought it was more than your holiday would cost?

Be prepared to having to apply for a waiver of ineligibility, so have that documentation ready on the day.

Not to mention that you can get Preston/London return for £25 if you buy in advance...
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

There's also £30, I think it is, for a police certificate.

but i would suggest a lot of people give advice based on "just making sure there won't be a problem"

Of course. Many wouldn't give advice that could, potentially, put the OP in danger of much worse than the inclusive cost of obtaining a visa. Some may be willing to...personally, I'm not going to suggest someone lie on an official US government application, myself...I've no idea if he would get away with it, but it seems kind of reckless to say 'hey, go for it!' doesn't it? Fair enough that people will give their own opinions, that's what this place is all about...but you can't really fault people for taking the cautious approach.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
