Well the "Ipod nano" arrived yesterday by Parcelforce (from China)and it's an obvious fake. Hardly any instructions, just forced into an Ipod box and the docking connector is only a USB port. The screen is rectangular rather than square and the metal is grainy, and it won't connect to Itunes. Can anyone advise as to what to do next? Stupidly I didn't do any research on this site and have parted with just over 82 quid for this pile of carp that was probably cobbled together in some Chinese sweatshop. I paid by Visa debit so could I try a chargeback even though I have received the goods? I know that section 75 won't apply as it was a debit card transaction and for under £100. Thanks in advance xx

Actually, this one was a Google sponsored link, at the top of the page, had Apple emblem and all sorts of emblems that I now know are not genuine, and the Ipod was advertised at the same price as Gamestation at £79.00 (sold out, 5th gen not 6th gen, which is what we wanted), so no, not too good to be true, really.
With the benefit of hindsight, yes I should have done some further research but didn't, thanks for the heads up.I will try Consumer Direct tomorrow, failing that will ring the bank re the possibility of a visa chargeback.

I have been taken in by this site too, yesterday in fact. I was buying two ipods, thought maybe they were refurbs from Apple. I put in my card details (Debit card) but it came up as payment failed, so I tried again, same thing. But when I went back on my account information it showed three transactions were processing. I was in panic mode. Three transactions of £128 each were going through and no contact numbers or email addresses. I got straight on to my bank and explained, they said that no transaction had gone out of my account yet and I just had to wait. Having thought about it overnight I rang my bank this morning, still nothing gone out of my account, but I cancelled my bank card and blocked it and asked them to reissue me with a new one. I just hope this company has not been able to use my card. I cant believe this company can still carry on taking peoples money. Is there no way of stopping them? Just dont need this hassle before Christmas.
  • Just come accross this thread and had a friend who got caught with the same thing.

I sent a very angry email to Google saying that they should have some vetting in place to see exactly what types of websites make it onto their "sponsored links". Its extremely deceiving when you believe that such a site is Google endorsed, effectively, and turns out to be a scam. Its disgraceful.

That's your faulty beliefs - it doesn't mean Google have endorsed it at all, only that the company are paying more for clickthroughs to be listed in that space.
  • No, this is a con. Like other people I was taken in by the slick looking site and Google recommendation. Like others I thought the price for a Nano to be OK for a site shifting an older version of the device. I also got charged more than the advertised price by the way.

My order actually turned up (unfortunately). Clearly a fake that does not connect to i-tunes. I did take the precaution of buying with a credit card. However, it turns out that such a precaution was a waste of time. Under £100 for a start. My credit card company did not really want to know. I might, only might, get something back if I can get an expert witness from Apple to write a report saying it is a fake (yes, I can see that happening) and I obtain proof of sending it back to the supplier asking for him to put matters right. Somewhere in Beijing? Good money after bad in other words. I shall put this down to experience. The credit card company, by the way is the one that advertises that it does so much to protect you from fraud.:(

Well I quickly got on to my bank and cancelled my debit card and it seems to have stopped the company getting any money from my account, but it has obviously taught me a lesson!
