47 years next month - never been stopped or even had so much as a parking ticket. I am lucky because in the past I have had powerful cars and driven them fast; slowed down a lot lately though.

Snap......That included some bikes which seemed powerful at the time.

Despite driving a tad quickly as a teenager, my licence has been spotless for 10 years now.

23 years and nothing - we don't have points over here - if you get caught speeding and they don't let you off with a caution, then it's straight to court - one month off the roads minimum and a fine of about £120!

Are you in Ireland? When I was there around ten years ago there was a huge debate going on over the introduction of points and fixed penalty notices for driving offences. The argument was that, with no points, rich people (Boneo was given as an example) who could afford to pay the court fines would be able to drive as fast as they like.

IIRC the whole issue of fixed penalty notices was deemed to be unconstitutional and so the expensive and time consuming (to everyone concerned) system of court appearances was retained.

And I am quite an enthusiastic driver, one could say a real petrol head who loves nothing better than spinning the V6 round to 6000 rpm.

I thought you had to have a V8 minimum to be classed as a petrolhead? ;)

Some of you guys must be in line to become saints....:rotfl:
  • 14 points not long after passing for an indescretion in my fathers Turbo-x Bluebird some 19 years ago (yes, you can have 14 points on your licence) and 3 points in March for speeding.
  • i've been driving for 11 years, have had points once in that time but nothing for the last 8 years. I don't see the point of speeding, it doesn't get you there any quicker !!
Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!

Not had an accident or points in 1.8 million miles of driving (was lorry driver doing over 125,000 miles per year). That works out about the same as someone passing their test at 18 and driving 12,000 miles a year until they're 168 years old without points or an accident.

Have I always obeyed the speed limit? No. But I find MK1 eyeball coupled to brain works wonders.

Nearly 4 years, no Police pulls, no points. My 1.4l 8v push-rod engine doesn't quite match up to a V6 though.
