Many years ago from the then future in laws (I hasten to add I left the guy a few years later) I got wooden candle sticks that I thought were lovely till I saw a sticker on the bottom of them..........Do not put near a naked flame! Doesn't this defeat the purpose of what they're meant for!
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • this is a great thread! Here's my two pennorth . . .

ex's mother had birthday in nov and complained about people buying her perfume other than the one she wears as 'it's so thoughtless'. Guess what I got for Christmas . . . . . .

Grandmother didn't want to just give me money so i said I'd like hair mascara too (hey, I was 12) Christmas day rolls around and she produces a very pretty parcel. Apparently she couldn't get hair mascara in boots so she bought me the Christian Dior ones and I didn't get any money. I was too scared to use them they were so expensive!

And finally an urban myth I heard. Brother and Sister open their gifts from Grandma to find a 'good boy' and a 'good girl' selection box. Yes, they're for pets. And the worst thing is he got the 'good girl' one!

  • My sister bought me winnie the pooh socks and a winnie the pooh keyring last Christmas. I think I must have gone a little OTT thanking her for the 24 pairs of winnie the pooh socks she sent me earlier in the year for my birthday:rotfl:
It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
  • But do you actually like Winnie the Pooh?? ;)

I was once given a..... glass head. The kind that opticians have in the window to put specs on. I honestly thought it must be a joke but no - it was deadly serious!! Not the kind of gift you'd usually give to your 15yr old friend - but I've never forgotten it LMAO :rotfl:

not a christmas present, but yesterday my other half got a book from his parents for his birthday. Nothing wrong with that apart from the fact that its the EXACT same book he brought for himself 7 years ago, and he knows because its got his writing in it.

Hes still a bit upset... but hey its the thought that counts!!??!!
