I do hear it's shaping up to be a decent browser, but it's going to take a lot to migrate me from firefox, even chrome which has many advantages hasn't managed (safari and opera aren't even contenders!)
There's a lot less opportunity to knock it for now; it's fast, standards compliant and secure.0

You're a little confused here. You'll find it is rather Windows that can run on Macs. OSX is not that flexible so its Windows being able to do something OSX can't (that is run on other hardware).
Thats what he said a Mac can run Windows. You can either run windows via Bootcamp thus booting directly into Windows as you would on a PC or run it within a program such as Paralells Desktop or VMWare Fusion thus allowing you to have windows running alongside OSX enabling you to copy documents from one operating system to the otherSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

OSX could run on other hardware, but it doesn't make financial/business sense for Apple to allow that. OSX is extremely cheap compared to Windows (& can physically be installed on multiple Macs). If OSX was allowed to run on a PC, then Apple would lose a considerable number of existing and potential Mac customers. And that's where they make their money. Hardware, not operating systems.0

Yes I agree its quite easy to get OSX running on a PC if you know waht you are doing or even with virtualisation software such as VMWare WorkstationSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

I installed OSX on my PC, but its a pain in the !!!! and there are some things that don't work properly. Had a lot of trouble getting my Nvidia drivers to work. Although OSX will work on most C2D (or better) systems, its pretty obvious it was designed for Apple's specific hardware setups.0

Linux doesn't have a lack of programs as such, more a lack of mainstream programs which enable me to work like Photoshop or lightroom...
Linux has alternative programs to the mainstream ones you use GIMP comes to mind straight away.Thats what he said a Mac can run Windows. Yes it can and like I said its because Windows can run on a mac, its allowed to. I've also said before I don't understand the big selling point "Buy a mac it can run windows". Why not buy a cheaper PC that already has windows that way your not wasting your money.jennikitten wrote: »OSX could run on other hardware, but it doesn't make financial/business sense for Apple to allow that. You're right no financial sense apple like to rip off their customers. I've already mentioned the expense on OSX in post #77 HERE.
As also mention OSX should really be considered firmware in the same respect as Android and iOS, why do apple make you pay for an update to firmware?0

Just like Microsoft make you pay for updates to Windows except that OSX is a lot cheaper than WindowsSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

 OS X Leopard Retail £134.99
Windows 7 Home Premium Retail £89.99
Please don't include service pack pricing/upgrades in your comparison (though microsoft service packs are, of course, free)
Obviously the above point is moot, as OS X can ONLY be installed on apple hardware, whereas microsoft don't sell computers so their OS can be installed on any compatible hardware.
I kinda feel bad feeding the trolls, but it's easy Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
