Ta Bob :) Ah yes this is most of my social life too!

Realised yesterday that I hadn't actually put my goals for March on here, so here they are:

Have finished Book 2 of OU course and done basics of assignment 2 (due 15th April).
Have paid £637 towards debt (this would take me to £2000 in 100 days which I challenged myself at beginning of January).
Have lost another 5lb in weight (lost 2lb this month, another 5lb would take me down to just over 9 stone)
    Read one non-study related book.
    Get some exercise!
Do guided meditation at least once a week (having managed it only once this year so far!)
    Keep going to counselling.
Book Eurostar and Paris hotel, London hotel and train back.
Do a couple of bits of French language stuff per week.

Pretty much on track so far although we had a quick look at Eurostar last night and the price had gone up.. hmmm. Anyone know anywhere else to book Eurostar tickets apart from the official site?

Accidentally did the French stuff by tuning into a French radio station on my phone on the way home from work the other day!

Eating better and feeling better although weight is going down verrrry slowly. Cut out a lot of the normal weekly glasses of wine and am sleeping better because of that I think.

Not managed the meditation so far this week - I must go and shut myself away somewhere for 20 mins!

Just checked bank and have just over £600, I think that's about right with the budgeting so far.

Anyway, quiet day so far at work and hoping it stays that way - could do with a nice chilled out Friday :)

    Here's to a chilled Friday :)

As far as rail bookings are concerned, youcould try https://www.seat61.com - there's an amazing amount of info there, tho I'm not *quite* sure if there's booking facilities - but if there's another place to book eurostar, they'll know.

Thanks Karma.. he just says to use the Eurostar site, but does mention it can be cheaper to book a hotel + train package so will have a look at that.

Have just seen that the fee has been set for the OU course I want to do next - £700. So I need to get that together before I can register. Not sure I really have many opportunities for earning extra coming up, so it might just be a case of budgeting and saving.

Got to keep your hair looking nice :) sorry seat 61 is a bit of a nonstarter, its the only one I know of. Erm, £700 is a lot of money, by the way! But of course, fees have gone up massively over the last little while. And you're so capable now on money, you'll breeze it (with a bit of belt pulling, I guess).

It is a lot, but I managed to find the £650 for the current one, so it should be OK. Better than paying thousands I suppose!

I am starting to concoct a long term plan for the studying over the next few years, depending on how things go :)

The thing is.. is it a real muscle, do any muscles really exist, is it morally wrong to talk about muscles...? :rotfl:

Yeah I can see us living in the country with the odd visit to the city to go "ooh look at all these people" :rotfl:

I spose alot of it comes down to what we as individuals think of as muscles lol

    Hehe El :rotfl:

Hi Gemmzie - nope I've got a couple of diplomas plus a few other courses - think I've got about three 'second years' of a degree! Just this course and one more level 3 to go though and I will have finally completed one :)

Still having a bit of a fight against my brain to stay positive and not think about work too much outside of work.. still finding myself waking up worrying about 'something'... actually think sometimes I just wake up and my mind finds something to fill the space, if you know what I mean?

Anyway, this weekend I've been thinking a lot about time - I spend 7 hours a day at work, which is a lot of time, but it does leave 17 every day when I'm not at work. Spent about 9 of those in bed, but that still leaves 8. So apart from the stuff that has to be done - getting ready for work, eating, housework etc, that's still quite a lot of time to do things I enjoy. So thinking I really need to make the most of those hours - I don't necessarily mean rushing about doing stuff, but less slumping in front of the TV and more reading, practical things like knitting/ gardening, doing things with Mr S (I mean meals out, silly board games, stuff together.. don't be rude you lot ;))

Also, we seem to have got into the habit of 'waiting for the weekend', but going out shopping and for a meal on Wednesday was great - so I think more weekday fun things are needed.

Anyway, despite all that thinking, actually did quite a lot at the weekend. Saturday, we had to go and pick up a parcel from the PO in town, so had a wander round shops and one of the galleries, then a £5 lunch at All Bar One. Only spend money on necessary toiletries.. well mostly necessary, I did insist on buying Mr S a sachet of 'mens' facemask and then going home and pampering him :rotfl:

Sunday we didn't wake up till 11am for some reason  Still managed to do food shopping and gardening - picked the last of the leeks and dug over the beds, planted spinach and radishes, divided some bigger plants in the flower bed to fill in some spaces. Then had an afternoon cooking session - falafel, hummous, flatbreads (lunch sorted for the next few days), banana & nut muffins, and a roast pheasant late lunch. Clean bedclothes on, showers and watched The Secrets of the Universe in our PJs.. good day all round :)

So, back to work, trying to keep positive head on and think of productive things to do with my lunch hours and the rest of my 'spare time' :)

Hi Squizz - lots of *really* productive thinking going on there, I like it. I think for me, its about conscious choice, those hours when I'm not working - I *choose* to watch Total Wipeout, for instance :D its one of the ones I watched on iplayer when I didn't have a tv - but I've also started to watch far too much tv, which is partly habit, and partly not being able to afford to go out much and partly being worried to *start* going out before the germs have gone, bearing in mind my awful health history over the past two years :o:o:o but you're right, there are other, pleasant, creative things to be done with our time, even if we're not going out.

Self report: must try harder :D
