Hi, spotted your post on KC's diary about yours, so popped in to say hello :)

On the confidence thing, I know you mentioned language, but what about Body Language, I read the following book just before going with OH to a company offsite, it was hilarious watching the body language sparring going on!! But on a more serious note, it's easy to give signals saying you're either not assertive/confident enough, or too confident and overly assertive. I need to read the book again. Anyway, this is the book:

Hi Se.. thanks, that looks really interesting. Definitely something I could do with working on too.

Ooh I wish I was still in my PJs!

Quick money update - paid my cheque in, so I now have £475 in the bank. Also due approx £160 from second job later in the month.

Been doing a bit of Christmas shopping on Amazon - hoping to get it out of the way before the end of November (although I must admit I do like the last minute buzz!)

  • I like the last minute buzz at Christmas too- however i *do* find it disconcerting that the shops start early and then proceed to take the decorations down on Christmas eve :( Have they not heard of the 12 days of Christmas? Sort of dampens it a tad..

I agree Bob - ridiculous that things are in the shops in October, and yep they should keep them up for the 12 days of Christmas!

I should really sort out what I've got and still need to get (I do have more than two friends, honest, but only two close ones I buy presents for!)

Mr S: 3 books, posh pen and pencil set for sudoko sessions :D
Friend 1: photo frames, fancy hand warmers, recycled pencil case
    Friend 2: photo frames
    Mum: CD, book
    Dad: 2 books

We also have Mr S's mum, dad, grandma, sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew - but he can sort most of that out :D

Was planning to knit some hats for people but not sure if I'll get that done. Can't think of any big things that anyone wants/ needs so am going for a collection of bits and pieces. Also got Mr S's birthday just before Christmas so he will get double bits and pieces!

Sounds good - I'll have to buy online this year - I *can't* go out to the shops like this, but I really want to buy Christmas presents this year - didn't do anything last year, it was awful, cos I was so ill .... this year *will* be different, even if its courier post all the way :)

A posh pen set for sudoku sounds exactly that - tres posh :)

lol!! Everyone is getting organised for Christmas!! :)

Must do likewise - your list has inspired me to have a think about my list and actually write one of who I actually *want* to get a pressie this year too. Often I get caught up in the whole spending frenzy but no cash for that this christmas.

Look forward to reading more of your diary - I'm 31 - and can relate to HOW did that happen?!!

  • Well there I was thinking I was really organised, and I've just heard someone say "it's six weeks to Christmas on Saturday!" I know that's going to fly by

We will be doing last minute shopping anyway, as we are staying at home this Christmas, so there will be lots of lovely food to buy! We have homegrown sprouts and have decided on lots of fizzy wine and a Heston Blumenthal Christmas Pudding, but not sure what else :D

Karma, we've really got into sudoku recently - I used to hate it but Mr S has taught me how to look at it logically to start and not just stare in blind panic at the numbers :rotfl:

Nice to see you Sea :) I'm 31 fairly soon.. it's not that I mind too much but I would like to know where my 20s went!

Today involves lots of very repetitive work, and it's cold and rainy and I want to go back to bed.. hmmph!
