Maybe I can smuggle you in in a flute case?!
Will definitely let you know if I see anything else similar.
I'm feeling abnormally positive today - paid twice in two days, fun music stuff, essay finished, and had lunch with my mentor at work and had a very inspiring chat about studying and things (she does a similar job to me but is also doing a part-time PhD). Also had a large cappucino which may explain my current state of hyper-ness! :cool:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
OK so I sort of fell off the positive 'high' last night - had a couple of rather sarky emails at work just before I left (my fault that I forgot to do something, but of course it had to involve the worst possible people...).. had a bit of a "waaah I'm useless" moment to which Mr S had practical suggestions which to be honest weren't really what I needed at the time. I don't think I've really talked to him properly about how unhappy I am in this job. We probably both moan equally about our jobs, but he doesn't show any signs of wanting to move on from his!
Anyway, I've bitten the bullet and replied to the sarky emails first thing, got quite a bit of work to do today if I can get my head in gear.
Bought the last bit of my dad's birthday present last night, spent slightly more than I planned so definitely not buying any clothes this month, well OK I might stretch to the squirrel socks. Have transferred the £200 budgeted for Paris into another account so that's set aside, and if I don't spend it all it can go into savings afterwards (really don't know how much I need, but everyone I know who's been to France recently has said it's "really expensive"!)
Mad massive stirfry last night - really tasty and plenty left for lunch today. Instead of a takeaway tonight we're having burgers (reduced to 25p each in Waitrose) and salad from the veg box/ garden.
Weekend.. there will hopefully be tootling (lesson on Wednesday, that seems to have come round quickly!) and walking.. maybe a bit of knitting, need to sort out something for a friend's birthday next month and she is always cold so something woolly might be goodDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Yuk to sarcy emails - thats a nasty work environment where that sort of thing is seen to be acceptable - but good for you for replying straight away.
Loving the focus on Paris tho!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hmm, it's a strange thing, of course it's not officially acceptable, but, well I guess that's part of why I want to work somewhere smaller, with less of a hierarchy...
Anyway, nearly the weekend, and the sun is shining. Think I might go home and lie on the lawn with the cat and a cup of teaDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Sigh ... so nice. I think I'll sit on a chair on the patio - the wasps own the grass
Have a lovely weekend2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning! Well not too much lying on the lawn this weekend, it's been a bit soggy (with sunny bits inbetween, but of course the grass is already soggy then)!
Did a bit of studying, lots of tootling (couple of hours yesterday, I actually think I was starting to sound not too bad towards the end of it :rotfl:), a couple of lazy naps on the sofa, made a batch of ginger beer, chopped up two bags of apples and made juice out of them, which involved a patio chair and a pillow case :rotfl: (juice now frozen so I can make jelly at some point.. froze the pulp too for, erm, something). Made lovely roast pork and veggies for dinners, got leftovers for lunch todayOoh and made a carrot cake out of River Cottage book which is really good (even if I did put the sugar in at the wrong stage cos I forgot it
)
Roast pork sandwiches and carrot cake aside, I think we are going on a bit of a healthy eating/ exercise kick at home as we are both a little round around the middleBadminton once a week is not really enough!
This week will be finishing off job application and getting stuck into my last (hooray) essay. Surviving work as usual. Badminton tomorrow. Flute lesson on Wednesday. My dad's 60th on Thursday, but unfortunately can't be there, feeling a bit sad about that, will have to arrange to see him soon.
Oh and on the money front, spent £6 on groceries on Friday and that's it for the weekendDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I think it felt lazy cos we hardly left the house! And a lot of the cooking involved doing something fairly quick and then leaving it to drip (pillowcase full of apple pulp) or shoving it in the oven.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Wow, think there was something in the air around here over the weekend, that's the kind of thing I spent the weekend doing too
And we're going on a healthy eating kick too

Hehe, perhaps there were preserving vibes in the air
Eurgh, just got called to our reception to deal with one of the most unpleasant aggressive rude people I've ever come across. Lady in my office was shaking when she came up to get me, and I was too by the time I came back.. Drinking very strong tea now!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
