Blackberries are nice done in rum! I've not done any this year and will regret it on Christmas eve as it was when we'd crack open the bottle and have first taste.

Our local pound shop is selling the beechams hot lemon and hot blackcurrant powders at the moment......worth a look if you've got one nearby.

Hope your pesky sniffles don't come to anything worse, I feel on the cusp of something coldy-fied but simply don't have the time to be poorly.

Ooh thanks Pooky, definitely worth a look in the pound shop to stock up for winter! Blackberry rum sounds good indeed, have had them in whiskey too which was pretty nice.

Lemsip kicked in enough to play badminton last night, but we think it should be a banned substance, not that I was good (although I am getting better), but I was really aggressive! :o Home to really nice tea (fish pie with reduced fish from Waitrose, and veg from the veg box), picked some tomatoes from the garden for lunch today (yay they are finally ripening), and then slobbed a bit.

Managed to do a big chunk of essay yesterday afternoon when it was quiet at work so that's nearly done, will try to finish off tonight.

Also heard from the community farm people (had been a bit concerned as not heard anything since we paid our membership!) so all set to go and dig stuff in a few weeks :j

Oh yep and it's payday! :T

Morning! Sniffles are still hanging around but not getting any worse at least. Flute practice last night was unpleasant though!

Spent the rest of the evening plotting what to do with this week's veg box and bashing about on guitars and ipod piano :rotfl: Bit of a late night though.. yawn.

Essay is finished :T so submitting that today.

Need to sort out final bit of my dad's birthday present and get that posted.

Have just harrassed second job again (they said I 'should' have received a payment in August.. yes I know I should but I haven't!)

Have booked badminton for next week (can only do it a week at a time which is a bit of a pain).

Work boredom/ frustration is getting worse, so time for a trawl through the jobs sites today I think!

  • Goodluck with the job sites today - fingers crossed you find something fun that catches your eye

What veg box plotting have you done, what in a veg box btw - I know they change each week/time you get it but what do you have - being very cheeky here.

Inspired by the idea of you veg box, now that I've thought about it, my 'reduced this week' random veg box found from mr t/etc contained
    bananas
    neep (swede)
    tatties
    sweetcorn on cob x 4
    aubergenes x 2
    cucumber
    tomatoes x 2 punnets
    apples
    pointed cabbage
    lemon grass
    spring onions
    pineapple x 2

NO idea what I'll do with it all, but I've got that lot for the week......
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

That's a great selection! This was a special offer thing where we get three boxes for a reduced price, not sure if we'll carry on with them after the third week.. maybe once a fortnight.

    This week we've got..
    potatoes
    onions
    salad
    cherry tomatoes
    broccoli
    cauliflower
    carrots
    leeks

also got leftover from last week's...
    runner beans
    peppers
    half a cabbage
    more onions
    more potatoes

plus a load of french beans and a bit of fennel from the garden.

Last night we had pasta with bacon, cabbage and leeks.
Tonight is stir fry with cabbage, peppers, onions, carrots, broccoli, runner beans.
Leftover stir fry and noodles for lunch tomorrow.
Curries at the weekend (potatoes and cauliflower).
Cauliflower and broccoli cheese at some point.
Going to make carrot cake :D

Oh and Mr S came home with two more bags of crab apples yesterday so need to find more things to make with them!

It's in, but it depends how quickly the timesheets get through to the right person whether it gets paid this month or next. £750 in the bank today though - YAY! :D
