I wouldn't be buyng either C1/Aygo, I would go for a Hyundai i10
Aircon
4x elec windows
MP3 CD Player
Mp3/Ipod Connection
Underseat tray storage
Can seat 4 adults comfortably
Decent sized boot with underfloor boot storage tray
5 year Warranty
1.2 Chain engine (so no cambelt change required)0 -
The build is a bit of a led down on the i10 though. Also I am pretty sure the c1 etc has a chain engine too.0

Firstly to the prius owners club, go search YouTube and hear what my man Jeff Dunham has to say on the matter
If it's just a car you're looking for lets be fair the requirements are simple - gets you there & back safely, without being expensive and comfortable enough for the needs which C1/Aygo/107 all provide, granted it's not going to win awards for having great features, but when you're paying that sort of money, well, you're not exactly buying a Rolls Royce! I believe they're mostly all CD player equipped and they're large enough for 4 adults (unless 3 of them are 6ft 9 - in which case you're hanging with the wrong crowd, you shouldn't trust anything that tall) - Air con, open the windows!

Also you comparison with the memory effect on a laptop or mobile phone battery is totally flawed, if a Priius battery was like that it wouldn't start, rmember that a Prius stops and starts hundreds of times a day, how many have you seen with jump leads attached, or getting recovered to a dealer on a low loader come to that.
Doesn't the Prius have an auxillary 12V battery like any other car as well as the stuff for the EV mode?
I do know of a newer "plug-in" Prius that's range is seriously reduced over new at 2 years / 80k miles, though.
As for the small car, Citroen C1 is the cheapest of the 3 AFAIK - but I'd probably still buy the Fiat Panda for £600 less.0 -
There might be some Poles in Scotland but I have never seen a Prius.0

Why on earth is anyone talking about Prius? The car is for a 17 year old and Prius is a group 15 insurance! Get real.
As to Aygo vs C1 vs 107, don't just look at the headline price. Be careful about the spec, and in particular check residuals (don't know if it's still the case, but at one stage Aygo was higher priced, but had higher residuals so all-life cost was a bit lower). Ultimately, it could well come down to whether the most convenient dealer (servicing etc) is Peugeot, Toyota or Citroen.I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0 -
