  • I went today and tried to buy a rocha john rocha jacket for my daughter which was reduced to £17.50 from £22 but when I got to the till she said the voucher couldnt be used on clearance items, so I got an oral b electric toothbrush which had gone down from £45 to £22.50, they accepted the £5 text so I got it for £17.50

Has anyone used one of these in merry hill?

    Thank you

Yeah I have on tue and weds. Tues was a printed one and yest was a txt. No probs at all :-)
  • Re previous post I read SOMEWHERE on MSE that someone was attempting to do this ( generate new codes ) and was advising others to do the same!

I understand now as it makes sense re IP addresses ... How come if its 'one per person' do they let each IP address have 29 codes?

How many relatives or flatmates do they think we live with?? ;) LOL
  • I tried to use my voucher today and they said at the till it had already been used which was VERY embarrasing.

I know that It has not been used by anyone in this household so I can only assume the number has been used elsewhere - possibly by people 'generating' numbers. I can't think how the code would have been used otherwise.

I think that I'm not the only one who's had this problem so I'm not sure the info in post #191 is entirely correct.

I think it could be that the sales assistant didn't input the correct code, and she didn't want to try again apparently. This happened to me once as well, when I tried to use a voucher at the checkout, the salesperson also told me that it's already been used, she even mentioned that this could be a fraudulent code I received from someone (I know it hasn't been used before, at least by my family). Anyway I paid for that item by card, then tried to purchase another item from another till using that voucher, and it worked! Perhaps you could try it again at another till?
  • I have an email voucher that I've not been able to use thanks to my dodgy printer so if anyone can make use of it tomorrow i can forward it, im too busy to get to debenhams tomorrow, ive used a few text ones so not all bad.

Had problems with my last text code tonight at the tills, neither of the assistants had seen one before, but had read the briefings so the 1st one put the code in and it wouldn't work, the 2nd one, a supervisor, then tried and the same, the till just beeped. I told her it had definitely not been used and got my other phone out with the code I had just used upstairs and as she tried the code yet another time I noticed she was not putting in enough digits so I asked her were there more digits on the next line and there were another 3 digits on the next line, she tried one last time with the other 3 digits and it was accepted.
  • I used my (One and Only) text voucher yesterday, and on a clearance item!

    I got one of these:

with a small crack between two of the flowers and had the following discounts applied:

    £35
    -20% (off homeware??)
    =£28
-80% reduction as on clearance (!!!)
    =£5.60
