Did anyone hear back from AQA?

I've just about given up waiting.... they might be V busy but I'd expect a reply to the e-mails I've sent rather than nothing, esp. seeing as I did e-mail while they were still advertising for UK researchers!

Hi all. Have been following this thread with interest. So much so that applied too. Must have applied an hour or so before you, mouse potato, when they still had UK job on the site. Have not heard yet but assume that this is better than auto response to say nothing available at moment! Let me know if you get an email from them one way or other as am in exactly same position as you at present. Will let you know likewise as may hear first as I think I put my application in just before you (about 12, I think)

Last time I applied they took 3 or 4 days to reply, so maybe in the next couple of days.

  • I applied about 3 days ago and still haven't heard back. As I live in Northern Ireland I'm hoping I can still be considered as they put 'Ireland' on the site and not 'Republic of Ireland' so I could hopefully get them on a technicality  ... if they ever get back to me that is!

This job would be perfect for me as I need to stay at home quite a lot of the time to look after my mum, so could easily fit it in.

  • I'm sorry to dampen the spirits, but AQA will not be taking on any more researchers in this recruitment drive as they are now oversubscribed. They are however taking on Irish researchers, as wells as Aus/NZ. If I hear any more about this I'll post on here.
  • Ta for letting us know, shame they couldn't have done the same. Ahh well nvm.

Could someone clarify the situation for me? When I applied (on Tues) the code for UK researchers was available in the list with Australia and Ireland. I have not heard back but neither have I had an auto-reply rejecting me. My question is, if AQA are oversubscribed, is it possible that I may not hear back from them at all, even if they do not want me? I had assumed that the longer I waited the better chance there was of hearing that they might take me on.
  • emu - I doubt we'll hear anything now seeing as they've filled their vacancies.

Feel free to PM me. I'll help you all I can. I started working for them a couple of weeks ago.
