Morning Everyone

Didn't get back yesterday :o

Only cooking OS wise, and general cleaning in Casa DG. Did a load of washing yesterday, but it was raining as the washer finished so on the airer in the conservatory.

My Boots arrived from Evans yesterday:j:j You guessed it they fit, DH approved too.

Today the Sky engineer has been, we keep getting freezing problems, anyway he put a new transponder on, as we will try that. I asked about deals while I was on and for an extra £2.38 a month we can have all the channels for 6 months, so decided to treat DH/DS for Xmas. :j

However, without wishing to bring the thread down, I do have a death to report, my SC has died  Yesterday it cooked a piece of lamb fine, today, it would not switch on, DH has done all he can, but could not revive it. The good news is Tesco have almost an identical one in for £10 - Quidco +points, so I have ordered one to collect at the local store. ;)

Glad to see DH is home Csarina
nicola sorry to hear about your Gran so soon after your DDad.
((hugs)) to RR & Dazi with poorly parents.
Moiliere enjoy your me time
BB well done on the sleepwars, yes it hurts us parents more than the kids, but we need to show them they are not in charge :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Bitsy & Tru I hope your have got your respective OH's involved in the house, please don't give me that "they have a stressful job" so have anyone who works, the house can be a full time job, so delegate a lot. We both worked, and I came to the conclusion if we split the jobs 30% me and 70% DH, with all the extra jobs that came along, it was an equal split.
Floss hope your boiler gets sorted soon, shame about the cavity wall as it really does help cold north facing walls, we used to have a problem with wardrobes on one wall until we had it fitted, and then np. Fingers crossed you are OK job wise.
Tappers hope you get all your jobs done, and you sort the HA out.
Off to Hull later, and then to check out a site for a rally in North Lincs. DG

off to work soon. Am collecting a residents sister and bringing her to tea today - she's also blind but doesn't have such a severe learning disability as her sister and enjoys coming to us to have a nice meal and a bit of company. She lives in supported housing about 10 miles away.

Cranky - hope the house elf is having a lovely birthday x

Afternoon all,

Just taking a breather from the daily grind to have a browse on the interweb!

Have a busy evening ahead after work. Going straight to the library from work to look at some of their reference only books on the Battle of Britain for my uni project and then will continue with the reading when I get home. Planning something and chips for tea tonight, maybe egg and chips, nice'n' easy and most importantly, absolutely delicious! :p

Hoping to get an early night tonight. I am hosting a work event at London Transport Museum tomorrow morning which means I have to catch the 7:09 train from home  I'm not normally even awake at that time! The bonus is that I get to finish work once the event's over which will be around 1 so I will easily be home by 3, and get to start my weekend early :T.
E.T.A. Nicola so sorry to hear about your loss *Hugs*

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all, have been MIA for a few days.....my 88 year old Gran died of a massive heart attack on Tuesday afternoon:( .

Sorry to come on and moan but I also lost my Dad on the 8th Sept too so my head is all over atm.

Anyway I have come on just to post my day: Got niece again as SIL is in hospital, she isn't due the baby for 8 weeks but she has something wrong with her liver and she had a ' show ' at the weekend. I can't remember the name for her condition ( it's pregnancy related she is itchy, no rash Obst.........Someone may know :o ), have done a wash but had to TD it as it's pouring down here. OH and I are going to the chinese buffet for lunch ( not very OS I know but I need to get out ).

Tea will be freezer surprisefor the kids ( we will be stuffed with chinese hopefully ).

Good news about your DH Csarina.
Redruby...hope your Dad is ok.

Have a good day all x

Obstetric Cholestasis is what you're referring to. Hope your SIL and the baby are doing OK. Am really sorry to hear about your dad and your gran. Just take each day as it comes and you'll get through this difficult time xxx Big hugs xxx

I'll give my H his due he's very domesticated, washes up, does ALL the ironing in our house each week. He's also put DS to bed every night this week (which in itself can take an hour) so he does support me in my endeavours :D

csarina - hope your OH is OK now he's back home x

Bargainbird - BOTH mine are the same about the bin men so perhaps it's not just a boy thing :D

Right shopping has been delivered. Need a brew and a piece of cake and then got some more Xmas craft to finish. I enjoy it but boy is it time consuming cutting things out and sticking them together

Nicola - (((hugs))) - sorry for your loss. It is so hard coming so soon after your dad. Thinking of you.

House Elf - happy birthday:). Hope you are having a lovely day.

JackieO - goodness, you deserve a good afternoon sleep after all that essay planning and writing! Good luck to all who are studying.
Pasta sauce cooking - spicy tomato with third of a pack of cooking bacon - I'm being very frugal with my bacon:). Change to what I had planned - but have forgotten what that was now. Fancy a glass of wine with it tonight but we don't have any in. Ah well.
Planning to go to a play at our local library this evening. Was planning. Now pouring rain and I'm having second thoughts of going over the doorstep. However, I see our lovely young neighbour out with her labrador and her toddler who is all dressed up for the rain and is pushing her doll's buggy. I remember doing the same when my two were little. We had a ladrador as well. Loads of ahem refreshing walks, being battered by the wind and rain along the NE Scottish coast. Picnics held in shelters to get out of the rain. Picnics in the car. Picnics when it was dry but so cold that the kids could hardly hold the food in their well gloved hands. aaahh those were the days;).
Have a good evening folks.

Hi all, horrible day here, dark and wet.
Nicola- you are going through it at the moment aren't you? I'm so sorry for your losses-big hugs.

I've got everyone out today so should have had a very productive day.(but I haven't,so there :D) Though I have made 2 lots of soup, ham & lentil, and beef broth using stock from the joints cooked earlier in the week.DS2 will probably have that for tea-he's into hm soup at the moment. For the rest of us I've taken a hm chicken curry and rice out.

Not much else to report-I've spent a lot of time looking online for a cheap( but not too cheap) overlocker yesterday-got pipped at the post by £2 yesterday on eb@y.
Bitsy - I agree with you on the cutting and sticking.THEN I still have to write the blooming cards after I've made em :rotfl:

Take care all.x

Happy Birthday to the House Elf x
