Normally these codes specify you have to open a credit account.

indeed. i first attempted it without a credit account, failed, so tried to open an account. site said i failed credit check (how strange, i have perfect credit and accounts for mobile phone, home phone, etc.)

so i didn't bother going through with the transaction but have already received post from very trying to get me to continue the transaction using a different payment method.

in hindsight, i don't trust VERY as far as i could heft one of their catalogues.

Whilst were on the subject, does any know if there is a way to cancel my Very and Littlewoods account without calling them up/writing to them?

Just cancelled my account with them over the phone and had no problems at all, they said yes I can see you have paid in full so that's fine. Hope it has worked lol

I am a very customer and it says in their terms and conditions that if errors like this occur they will take the payment from the card you used or add it to your account balance
