VERY Glitch

Hi this is my first post but last night I signed up to Very and put the voucher code zz080 for new customers in twice (accidentally).

My items came to exactly £50 and it took £25 off then another £25 off! My items arrived today costing me £3.95 only the postage!! Wish I would have bought more items and put it in a few more times!

I am very happy with what I got though1

Did you give all your details, date of birth, time at address etc? I can't seem to find a way of checking out without this info?

I'm not sure I trust this not to be charged full price, I think they are part of littlewoods and they have been known to take codes back in the past, if its taking all this personal info there's nothing stopping them opening the owed amount on credit and then taking legal action to recover it? What does anyone else think?

t&c's sayIf you use a cash discount promotion, such as £10 off, and you pay for your order with a credit or debit card, then we will process your payment in two stages. First we will charge your card with the full price of the order then we will refund your card with the value of the discount.

Please note that the payment and refund may not occur simultaneously but the refund will be made no later than when your order is despatched. Please be assured that if you were selected to receive the offer and your order meets the applicable terms and conditions, the refund will be applied to ensure that you receive the correct discounted price overall.

I want to give it a go too, but you have to agree to a credit account before you can check it out?

don't know if this'll help you guys but you can pay by debit/credit card without opening an account. just make sure you scroll right down to the bottom of every page during checkout- i noticed the non-account option was 'hidden' down there! hth.

ETA- i have tried a few discount codes that have been listed on mse for very in the past few days (trying to get that ruddy call of duty game cheaply) and NONE of them worked. bit odd, i thought!

It does work, I'm not sure why or how it did it! But yes I did have to sign up for an account and enter all my details. I have automatically been given a credit account but they told me I could just pay them when the invoice comes through? I haven't ever dealt with them before, I just know Ive got lots of lovely xmas pressies for 3.95 so yes I am happy :)

I just put it in non capitals, I thought I hadn't typed the code in properly so I just did it again, not realising it had taken it off twice! I got excited and was like oh quick let me check out before it changes its mind! Lol

Normally these codes specify you have to open a credit account.

  • i think this is not as 'easy' as it looks. got a feeling people will be charged later
find a deal....pass it on
  • I would be very worried as Very are part of the same group as Littlewoods and they are well known for charging the full price for items bought using vouchers that are used incorrectly so u may find when u get ur invoice your charged the full price or even in a couple of months time find yourself charged.........
