Why not post the order number? I am staff at Overclockers UK and I was going to look into the order for him to find out what is happening.
And have you sought permission to post in an official capacity on this site?

But anyone could make a post like that couldn't they?

With respect, why should anyone believe what you have written?

Well if you are indeed staff and you really can help, you have the OP's name (see post #1), can't you get the order details from that at work.

    Dear Sir,

I am sorry to hear of your complaint, however when an item is returned to us as faulty we cover the cost of returning the item back, which we have done as we have collected the item from you at our expence. We unfortunately cannot refund you for the original delivery of the item as it was delivered to you as described unfortunately the item went faulty after this time.

Sorry I cannot be of more help to you on this occasion.

    Regards

    Chris Montgomery

Well the next step is up to how far you really want to take this. You could either chalk this up to experience and vote with your feet by never using them again or you can send a LBA before taking legal action for the recovery of the amount. I'd also contact Trading Standards if you haven't already done so.
  • I paid by credit card, so would it worth asking capital one to do something first?

if you returned it under the DSR then you wouldn't get the postage back.
