I've been having issues with my post too, but it's been happening since I moved to this house in March, so I think it's the local postman/office which is the issue.

Basically, the postman doesn't deliver everyday, they save it up and deliver once, maybe twice a week. And on these days I always get a torrent of letters, junk mail etc, so I know it's being saved up. Before this, I would have probably recieved junk mail every day, and letters/bills spaced out throughout the week.

Have spoken to the local office, but they deny the postman isn't delivering every day, even though my neighbours confirm this and have also spoken to the office. Still, not much I can do about it when the managers are denying it, so just have to get used to it :)

    the postman doesnt not deliver
what you mean are the managers are dictating where the staff deliver.
failing to deliver on a daily basis is a USO failure and can be held as willful delay.
however there is a process called streaming.whereby mail can be prioritised and left to completew an "A-Z delivery" (basically start to finish rather than failing part of a duty)
    so mailsort is streamed out
    the 2nd class(not stamped/dated)
    then DSA
leaving only 1st class stamped and dated
look at how much mail you get that is 1st class stamped and dated
so they are meeting the USO's basic requirements
welcome ot the future folks.it will only get worse

Dear Mr Custardy, I am sorry that you appear to believe that I was "slighting you" - I did not intend to give this impression by using the words "in custardy"
Likewise - Mr Vent, Mrs Praise and Miss Warnings !!
  • Given that I don't buy ANYTHING in the High Street (except food), I can count on the fingers of 1 hand how often stuff goes missing using RM. In all 3 instances, it was the fault of the company sending the stuff (they claimed to have despatched stuff and had not). I also send loads of stuff via RM when I'm ebaying and have never had a problem, except in 1 case when the buyer gave me an incorrect postcode. (I've since learned my lesson and now check all postcodes before sending stuff out.)

My local posties are gr8 and always deliver my stuff on time. I ordered something from the US last year as a present and had to pay duty on it. The postie was so helpful and even rang me at work to say they had it at the sorting office - big shout out to him and all the guys and gals at RM for all their hard work. :T
