  • How about a membership for something like the national trust or similar?

  • Is there anything you could get for their garden or similar? It wouldn't add clutter as such but also wouldn't be entirely consumable?

What about personalised pencils for filling in their bowling cards? http://www.personalisedchildrensgifts.co.uk/personalised-pencils/cat_26.html or something for around the house, like Mr and Mrs Personalised Placemats and Coasters - they would actually be used!? http://www.personalisedgiftideas.co.uk/mr-and-mrs-placemats-and-coasters/cat_337.html. It's really hard finding NON CLUTTER gifts. I'm the same.. this year I've decided to do a secret santa with my family because we're all fed up spending a lot of money on rubbish! :-)

Yep to the highlighted bit - which is why I'm hoping for some inspiration here :)

Between the bowling and catching up with relatives and friends I don't think they'd really make the best use of something like this. Shame, because it's a nice idea and fits the criteria :)

I've been considering a mushroom log... their garden isn't very large but they grow their own veggies (well, a few of them) and I'm sure they could find a quiet corner for one somewhere. Haven't managed to convince myself yet :)

What about... an organic fruit and veg basket from somewhere like riverford? :) Hardly usual and they deliver ;) You can order just one offs if you want :)

This year I'm making chutneys and onion marmelades to give to people with a nice lump or 3 of cheese :) in a pretty kilner jar from Ikea and Bob's your uncle! (Actually I don't know any Bobs but hey...)

Have you thought about getting them a Bowls related present?
My dad plays indoors and outdoors too. There are many Bowls websites - the main one I know is Bowls World.

I get my dad a new measure and score card every year and he's always happy!

    Good luck

Buy them a title - Lord or Lady etc, and their own tiny plot of land, or adopt an animal, child etc
