    Update on Mam:

Brother went down this morning but she was sound asleep and he could not wake her by speaking or touching her shoulder so he let her be, and he sat with her for a while. Then he had a look around the 2 parks, one each side of the care home, to get his bearings and see where we could take Mam out in her wheelchair if and when we are able to

My sister and neice are visiting her now, with the two girls, her greatgranddaughters, and my sister has just texted to say that she is OK, gurgling but not coughing and the girls are chatting with her. My sister fed her a M*lky Bar dessert, her favourite now it seems, and she ate it all no problems. So good news there :T

I will go down about 5 or 6 pm I think, that way our visits are spread throughout the day and it will give her time to have a rest after the terrors have been

    Further Update on Mam:

Family have just left the care home - Mam had a big coughing fit again, poor Holly (9) was a bit worried and Grace (5) said they must get the doctor - bless them. When she settled down, she was exhausted again, so as they left she was falling asleep again

    Update on Mam:

Mam was awake but coughing when I got to the care home at 5.30 pm, constant gurgling but not constant coughing. We talked and she drank some warm tea. I sat her up more, and she ate the Thornton's Chocolate Caramel Mousse dessert I had took in for her, then drank more tea - only sips but at least she is drinking

Her nurse came in with her liquid paracetamol and we talked about her chest problems. The nurse tried her with her inhaler, and I asked whether they used nubulisers at the home, remembering that she is on comfort care only. The nurse confirmed that they indeed do, and she would check her notes and either let her use the nebuliser or talk to the doctor about it. I explained that Mam had been on the nebuliser 4 times a day in the hospital, with odd extra salbutamol nebulisers when needed, so felt that this would do the trick, hopefully

Mam was tired so I left after a hour, but will of course be back tomorrow

That's OK SW, you have to rest and you obviously needed the rest today - no problem if you only marked one essay, when you have more time available

I've felt more down today I must say, with one thing and another, but I generally feel so much better chatting on here - the support on here is fantastic - it is what gets me through it all, so thank you all

    Thanks for the update 3Dogs.
It must be such a worrying time for you.

My back is is spasm which is not good but on a positive note it has meant a much needed NSD.

Mr 3Dogs~Can you maybe give me a very rough idea on how much you might pay for a sofa bed at an auction?
Are they the type of thing I might be able to pick up at an auction?

Your mam seems to be resting for a tremendous amount of time. When i was ill it meant all the drugs i was on were working and my body was having a chance to recover. I see it as a good thing. And it is also good that the carehome is so helpful. I would have thought that they would have known about the nebulisers though.

By the way 3Dogs, the feeling is entirely mutual. You are my big sister. Mum and dad love you and steve and andy. And everyone wants to meet you all. I watched a lot of tv today. I have been paying £40 a month for cable tv that i haven't even been watching. It was good. Do you have any idea of when you may go home? You must be missing Mr 3Dogs terribly.
