Which bank account offers the best online banking service?

Genuine question: what online facilities am I missing-out on by being a FD customer?
Main annoyances with FD's internet service for me are:
1. Once you create a payment (e.g. to transfer money to another account) you cannot delete it. It will take 13 months to fall off the list after not being used!
2. Difficult to amend standing orders using the IB banking. I always end up calling them to amend SO's.
On the plus side if you use an iPhone for accessing IB it works really well. Annoyances listed above still present, but their micro-site is very functional for a small screen.0 -
IMO, hsbc have a great website but natwest is the best lender. Open accounts with both.0

Before you decide on any bank, Google:-
"Worst internet bank" & "Best internet bank". I did last year, should give you a balanced feel on which internet bank to choose.0 -
Whilst I agree that NatWest/RBS is near the top of the list in terms of their internet banking, one interesting thing I found is that it is the only online banking provider that I have had that would not allow me to set up more than one standing order to the same sort code and account number online (I even tried to open a secondary account to see if that got over the problem - it didn't).
I acknowledge that I am probably unusual in needing to do this though. Its a problem if you have more than one regular saver with a building society which uses the same sort code and account number for all customers (payments being differentiated between customers via the reference field).0 -

This is probably just a security issue. I normally use my other accounts for savings.
The Natwest account for spending money.0 -
I use First Direct, Natwest & Halifax. Halifax online system is my favorite as it's very easy to operate. Transfers & payments work like a dream. Natwest system is the safest out of these 3, so sometimes a bit fiddly. But it can store up to 7 years of statements and that's really useful. First Direct is ok but I really don't like the way how it manages my standing orders and direct debits.
Halifax internet banking looks good, but in my opinion it is not the best because you cannot rely on its faster payment service all the time.0
