This may seem like a silly question but my DS wants this game and keeps telling me that there is going to be a "Hardcore" edition of it and that I will only be able to buy it from HMV for the princely sum of £65!!! Does anybody know whether or not this is correct ?? I know next to nothing about these games and am a bit confused with it all.

Yes,there is a "hardened" edition but, as far as I know, it isn't exclusive to HMV.

It is correct that there will be Hardcore and Prestige editions, these thing usually mean you get a pretty box, maybe some extra special avatar for your gamer id and possibly some bonus in game maps soooooo it's down to personal choice on if it's worth the difference in cash or not. Just to point out the game also comes with an age 18 rating!

    ASDA
i bought modern warafre 2 from asda, got there around 11pm (24hr store) they had around 1500 for xbox and 1800 for p3 .There where about 300/500 in front of us.We get out around 1.40 am and there was probally 500 or more still in the que. I paid £32

The following morning went to my local sainsburys opens 7.30 got there for 7.20 around 20 people in front of me. Grabbed a copy inside the door and then done some shopping, paid for it all same time. I would say they had around 100 copies of each if that. left the store around 8am, and there where still copies sitting on the shelf. price paid £26

Thank you for this, I already knew about the age rating as he has other call of duty games but DS is sadly mistaken if he thinks I'm going to pay an additional £40 just so he can have the game in a pretty box. LOL!!! Think I'll be heading to Sainsbury's on tuesday, he'll be getting it early anyway because its for his birthday and that isn't until the 22nd!!!

Found your true call of duty?!

    sorry, had to.

How do i get my missus to play it?!

:rotfl: I wish i had some tips for you the missus front but i dont - i just like it, im one of those weird females who has the 'gimme the control pad' gene :D
Perhaps you could just offer her a go? then perhaps she'll really like it and want to play. Then again,if that works you might have a struggle getting it back,so i guess you have to weigh up whats more important to you. You playing cod or your missus playing cod lol
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

Standard Edition - just the game
Hardened Edition - The game, steel box, artwork book, bonus avatar costume & Black Ops medal
Prestige Edition - hardened edition + remote control "spy car" with AV stuff

Supermarket cheap deals, don't make me laugh, you always pay the full price for the item on a loss leader.
