Has anyone received their copy from Tesco yet? My son is very disappointed as he paid for this himself and it has not arrived. What is Tesco like for delivering on the launch day? This is the first time I have ordered from them. Thanks.

This is the first time I have pre-ordered a game so very disappointed that Tesco have not got it here for today when it was ordered at the end of Sept. Only agreed to pre-order it as got a discount and last time DS only told me he wanted cod after the release special offers so I spent days trying to track it down at a decent price! Have now been to Sainsburys (Lyons Farm) and got one of the last ones available, stocked up on two months of dog food towards the £30 spend.

as i found mw2 in morrisons last year for £26 when everywhere else that was cheap had already sold out i thought i would give them first chance of getting my money today. i looked at the cod stand and there were quite few boxes still there. however it was £39.99. i decided to try somewhere else. so i got on the bus to the next town. all the regular game shops were charging £44.99 but you could get a chart game and get it for £24.99. thats no good to me i just wanted cod. i then went to sainsburys. it had a big sign saying £27.98 i thought great and asked if they had any and they said yes. they gave me it to take to the tils to pay for. on my way looking at thr sticker on the box i noticed i had to buy £30 worth of shopping to get that price and the actual price was £37.99. so i gave them it back and got the bus to asda which is only a 10 minute walk from were i live. i got it there for £36.97. so i could have saved load of hassle and walked down the road to get it. thats the best price in my opinion. i'm not interested in deals were you have to buy something else you dont really want and pay £65 or more altogether.

Dont you eat? £30 of groceries and the game for £28 is a good deal IMO, thats the one we went for although i had preordered it at Sains so I didnt have to worry about it until I finished work today.

Just another point, all of the above deals were posted on this thread and others so you didnt really have to do all those miles on the bus

My Tesco one didn't arrive either, so picked up a copy at Sainsburys with a few bits I needed anyway to make up the £30.
Think Tesco may have a few returns to deal with this time? Don't think I bother with Tesco pre-orders again. Used Asda for FIFA11 and they managed to have it delivered on the release day.
    :hello:
  • Ordered from Tesco last night after having doubts about Very (not showing dispatched on site & voucher honouring)
The Very game arrived this morning, but the £20 discount still hasn't been credited to my account.
Hubby will be home from work any minute itching to go on it! Do you think it would be ok for him to play on that, and return the sealed game that comes from Tesco in the Very box for a refund??

sainburys is expensive though and we dont need any shopping at the moment.
on the second point i was just having blind faith that stores would decide to compete like last year. i was also having faith in morrisons after getting such a good price last year. i considered going to asda at midnight last night but was put off. i phoned them at 10.45pm and got told i should get down there straight away if i wanted to get a copy. so the idea of a massive queue put me off and also when i asked what they were going to charge he said they would not know until they start selling the game.
  • Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, we've done a rundown of the top deals for the weekly email. We've started a new thread so that people coming through from it can see all the replies about the current offers rather than search through this thread.

Please do let us know if there's any we've not spotted that you have.

    Thanks!

  • Just back from Asda, traded in Fifa 11 and got Black Ops for only £8.97. Any new game that you want to trade in is getting a good price, and Black Ops is only £37 -if you have recently bought a game that you dont like is a good idea to trade it in at Asda and you should get a decent price for it. Other shops which are offering trade in deals have a small list of titles that they will accept, as far as I know there are no restrictions at Asda. EA sports who make Fifa have included a one-use only password for online gaming - for this reason I didnt think I'd be able to trade in/sell off Fifa so am very pleased. Bought it for boyfriend last month and he hates it - he traded in other games and got Pro Evo instead which he says is much better.

i must be one of the few who isnt all that bothered bout getting it on release day, dont get me wrong, i love a good shoot em up (bring back classic doom!!) but not for the prices some places charge, so for me to wait till today, order from tesco, and get it by lets say the end of the week, im ok with that, plus i still have other games which ive not completed yet, only now playing the first bioshock, haha.

But you are very unlikely to get it any cheaper by doing that, I can't imagine the price will start dropping for quite a while yet, certainly not with Christmas approaching.
