I'm making a chocolate hamper for my SIL. So far I have a choc candle (£1 from Home Bargains), Some small bars of Green & Blacks chocolate (around £4), a bottle of choc liqueur (£10 from Lyme Bay Winery - expensive but oh so good). I'm keeping my eyes open for other things which will prob include some drinking choc powder. HTH
Anyone else have any other choc ideas?
how about getting a chocolate brown mug ( i got a gorgeous rounded shape one in wilko for 99p) a mini whisk (79p I paid) and some Options sachets, (got mine for 22p each in tesco, lots of lovely sounding flavours) and putting together as a choccie drink gift set.
You could also melt down some chocolate and cover some spoons in it, and tie some ribbon round the spoons, for a little bit of luxury....
I've also had chocolate scented bubble bath before but cant remember where from....
In The Works they also have "Little Book of" and there is one for chocolate, or maybe a cookbook with all things chocolate.
Box of double choc muffin mix. I got a Betty Crocker one from Tesco for 79p!
Maybe even a vintage tin sign, check out ebay, I've seen coffee, choc and cake ones on there for around £3.99Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
It seems most people have everything these days, kids especially, back in the day, when I was a kid, our xmas present was something you'd probably wanted for best part of the year. Now, if people want something, they just go and get it.As SarahSaver points out a charity gift would be nice, sponsor an animal, buy a oxfam donkey, sponsor a dog/cat..RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Some choc body paint (Around £5 from a well known high street shop). And as others have stated some good ideas here I am looking at them hard

Same with my sis, she's better off than me and a pain when I have to think what to buy if I want to be original. The good news is that she adores handbags and jewelry, no matter how much of that she already has.
She did something interesting for my last birthday. She found a copy of the newspaper that was issued the day I was born, scanned the whole of it, bound it all together and sent it to me.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
For those awkward to buy for people, I try to get something that you can't buy in the high street of every town in the British Isles.
For example, if you have a local charity that does hand made items like embroidered hankies or lace items; an owner managed shop that sells hand made sweets or chocs; a college that sells their students artwork.
If you are creative yourself, you could knit or crochet a small garment - it needn't cost a lot and shows you have put some thought into the present.0 -

We've already done the photos in a nice frame thing at least twice, and I'm completely stuck. She knows we're broke so won't mind not getting something expensive, but want to make an effort to make/get something she knows we thought about. Only I'm stuck! Have browsed other threads and nothing struck me so far. She's early 40's, fashion and style conscious and always beautifully turned out.....(unlike me!) Any inspiration?
How about a book on the history of ladies fashion? I used to work for Past Times and they did a brilliant book like that around £10......
or theres a book called A Book of Elegance (Im sure thats it) and its basically about all the "society" things to do, like never wear crocodile print before 2pm, and what hosiery to wear for what occassion, that kinda thingWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi my husband never knows what to get me, and he wanted to get me something original, so for my birthday last year he bought me some land in scotland that had a title with it so I am now Lady Samantha xxxxxx AND I own land in Scotland. How posh is that! It cost the grand total of £25! The title is legal and so are the title deeds to the land. The title is hereditry so if she,s got a daughter it will be nice to pass to her. I don't know if I can put the name of the website on here, but if you want to PM me I'll give you the details. I can honestley say it's one of the best presents I've every had. Plus you can get great service when you ring and order or book anything and when they say is it Miss or Mrs and you say well actually it's Lady!0

you can get pashmina scarves (with 30% cashmere or silk mixed in) for less than £20 on several online stores in lots and lots of colours. Or a nice cookery book - lots of them are available through places like the book people or on offer so you can get a really nice cookbook for £10 but it looks like you've spent a lot more. (Claudia Roden - Arabesque or something like that is more exciting maybe).0

Is there something she can't get enough of? My SIL has absolutely everything and yes, we've done the photo frame thing several times! She can't get enough wine glasses; has hundreds but still buys more. I've bought her some not too expensive ones from Selfridges in the past as they come in posh packaging (you're halfway there with decent giftwrap!).
Champagne also comes in lovely packaging around Christmas too - an obvious choice for the person that has everything, but you can never have too much!
Think of the sort of things she's bought you - people generally buy things they'd like themselves.
I think a magazine subscription is a good idea too, people always have their favourites - you just need to scan the coffee table or the loo for clues!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
