What to get she who has everything?

Got to think of a present for my Sister in Law who is much better off then us, has everything she could possibly want and quite picky style-wise. We've already done the photos in a nice frame thing at least twice, and I'm completely stuck. She knows we're broke so won't mind not getting something expensive, but want to make an effort to make/get something she knows we thought about. Only I'm stuck! Have browsed other threads and nothing struck me so far. She's early 40's, fashion and style conscious and always beautifully turned out.....(unlike me!) Any inspiration?

The thing I would always like and never get is a box with things just for me in it. ie. a magazine I would like, a small bottle of baileys, a few really nice choccies or my favourite cake/ treat (in my case yorkshire curd cheesecake, no idea why) a pair of totes toastie socks (love these) and a cheap weepie dvd (preferably black and white) if someone got me that I would be over the moon as it would show they Knew what I liked.
Don't know if SIL has kids, but if she does she may appear calm on top whilst paddling like mad to stay afloat and just a bit of thought of what she would like might just be enought to make her really happy.0 -
what about a message gift voucher £15 ish and if she is loaded she can always top up voucher herself.
Or scented candles for when she is in the bath and a nice bottle of wine and maybe a cd ( copy pos) of girles songs for chillin out to.
If she knows your financial status she will know it is the thought that counts.
Of does she have a fave perfume, maybe you could buy her a handbag size one, Bodycare need me does loads of little perfumes for £5-10. They are 5ml but they are parfum not eau de toliette.0 -
If she loves clothes and is into fashion how about some really nice padded clothes hangers. If you enjoy sewing you could also make some nice linen sachet things to put in wardrobes, cupboard drawers etc, if not you could buy scented lining paper for drawers, pretty cardboard boxes for small items and or bits and bobs etc.
TK Max and Dunhelm Mills usually have a good range at Christmas time.0 -
Pay the woodland trust to plant a tree, they send you a certificate which you can give her in a frame. Last time I did that it was a tenner. Or else the Oxfam gifts like chickens or a toilet for people in India. If she doesn't really need anything give something to someone who really does in her name!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

What about a nice Jo Malone scented candle..it might work out a bit expensive though.
Tickets for a show or concert (maybe something she wouldn't normally buy for herself).
Subscription to a Magazine she might like. Sometimes you get a free gift when ordering and you could keep that for your self. :rotfl:
Check out Quidco...Usubscribe.

a subscription to a fashion mag is a great idea. Especially as it is a gift that lasts all year. Several companies (the one which does red and elle) are offering 2 subs for the price of 1 - so two peoples christmas pressies sorted for the price of 1.
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

:hello:
I'm making a chocolate hamper for my SIL. So far I have a choc candle (£1 from Home Bargains), Some small bars of Green & Blacks chocolate (around £4), a bottle of choc liqueur (£10 from Lyme Bay Winery - expensive but oh so good). I'm keeping my eyes open for other things which will prob include some drinking choc powder. HTH
Anyone else have any other choc ideas?"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0
