I park in two bays at times- not if a carpark is full though. Will always aim for end spaces or ones furtherest fom the doors.
Partly because my car was resprayed, and I dislike damage- and most damage I've had on mine of that sort has happened in supermarkets. The main reason being- my car is two door, the doors are longer than a 4-door car, and in some places with tight spaces if I parked perfectly in one spot I wouldn't be able to get out! Particularly if there's a 4x4 beside me...0 -
when I was learning "she who must be obeyed" to drive I always told her to look for a parking spot with an expensive car beside you.they tend to take more care opening doors.;)counting down the time I got left.:beer:0

Yeah, makes sense. Now I think about it, I try not to park beside family cars or beaten up rustbuckets....didn't realise I was doing that!0

So whether we reverse or nose in(another argument, another day) we make sure an agreed side of the cars wheels are on the line, resulting in a row of cars all equidistant from each other!
That would stop some of the crazy parking I've seen. A line of cars start all perfectly parked in the centre of the space but by the end they move farther and farther over, eventually creeping into two bays. Then theirs the 4x4's or the folk that think their car is better thatn yours so must park in the middle of two spaces,,,,,,,,
I've never parked in the middle of two spaces:huh:0 -

The worst thing is when little Johnny does swing the door into your car and the mother gets out and says either "he's just a kid" or "it's only a car".“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Give me a half empty carpark and you'll find my car in two spaces as far from the store as possible, when I get snide comments I simply say "when people get some respect for other peoples property THEN i'll park in one space".
It's not about being better, I don't see my car that way..... It's about protecting your bank balance and your no claims bonus.
I've seen people damaging cars on purpose purely because they are parked in two bays before, so be careful.
I generally park a reasonable distance from the entrance but I do find even if the car park is pretty much empty a car will come and park along side me regardless. That gets to me a bit.
I also wont park next to a car which clearly hasn't been taken care of or that has child seats in the back.0 -

I'll happily squeeze my company car into any space where someone has parked over two bays if the car park is full.:p:DThe man without a signature.0 -
Multi-storey carpark- I never park opposite the down/up level ramps...0

But was it really such a great idea?
It'll take me all of a few hours to pull the dents out and smooth them over with the help of a line board, but they'll be spending far more than a few hours being paranoid about a revenge attack.
Pretty stupid to damage someone's car right outside your own house.
Are you saying you saw them do it? Or is there some other way you know who did it?0 -

I used to have a very battered 126, usually you could just squeeze it in if someone used two bays, I always did on their drivers side, then watched them climb over from their passenger door.0
