  • For all those blokes who might be ordering...just check with your wife that she's ok with polishing this type of finish. Mrs McSpank mouths bad words everytime she has to clean such a pan...apparently that chrome finish is a pesky blighter to keep clean....not that I'd know.

Out of the dishwasher, back in the cupboard for me!

With that kind of slapdash attitude you may never secure a man.

My hubby seems quite well secured.

Seriously, if anyone is worried about that, I've just taken mine out of the dishwasher - admittedly it had a bit of a soap residue on the inside. So gave it a very quick wipe over with a damp sponge and dried with tea towel, now back to looking brand new. They are seriously nice pans.

Ordered on the 14th, received ths morning....and worth the wait.

Love the lippped edges which work great with the tops with drain holes in - lets you drain the water without removing the lid.

Also, the steamer works a treat - all in all, a great deal.

Corse another thing in favour of NOT having non stick is the recent report on the plastics used in the coatings, specially Teflon. Supposed to be somewhat toxic/carcogenic when ingested. Reports found it gradually seeps into food.

Everything is carcinogenic according to several 'recent reports'. General ethos of such studies is thus: 'If you wanna find it, you will', but then, that's hardly an impartial scientific methodology now, is it?

I wonder how long foodstuffs must remain on a non-stick piece of cookware for this horrific carcinogen to leech...
  • Just ordered mine so thanks

My 2 sets arrived this morning... the £44 lipped ones. It seems that the main difference between the £44 and £49.99 ones are that the £44 ones have lips and draining lids (2 different sizes of drain holes) whereas the £49.99 ones have vented lids.

    The £44 is this set

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Judge-Draining-piece-stainless-steel/dp/B0007D7OMW

but the 14cm pan from Dyas doesn't have a lid ... but you get a steamer.

I think you would find it impossible to buy the set for the RRP they mention but it seems to be about £70-£80 elsewhere.
