gibbajabba - I assume you're refering to the Minolta. here's a quote from the review:
"The lens is not stabilized, so handheld shooting at full telephoto may result in blurry images at lower shutter speeds. We recommend the use of a tripod or monopod for long telephoto shooting."
I also checked again and didn't see in the review any mention of having stabilized lens!! I would check direct with Minolta before buying if zoom was important feature. In my view, without stabilization this camera would not be so suitable for long range hand held shots. Otherwise fine.
vk2003 - try a different browser.0 -
Did you check out the key features section on the right, thats where i read about it http://www.dcmag.co.uk/news/article/mps/UAN/508/v/1/sp/ even if it doesnt have this feature im sure itll still blow my old camera away
Just realised that you were talking about the Minolta,i was talking about the panasonic, doh! What goes around - comes around

The comments about the MP are right: A camera is about optics first, without this the best sensor makes no difference. The lens is superb.Seth.0

Great ... hope you enjoy it. I was worried you'd bought the Minolta and it would be ALL MY FAULT!!
Now I can only take the blame for your Panasonic :-)0 -

The best bargain bar NONE for a digital camera at £199.99 is via:

£350 in my local Jessops and an awesome camera with great resale value. 12x optical zoom and Leica lens! Details on jessops.com web site
Jessops are generally quite expensive, cheapest i could find on the net was £259 on Pricerunner (jackinthebox electrical). Jessops very often price match so worth taking a screen print of the price to them and seeing if they'll match it. IMO you always get better service from Jessops than over the net, especially if anything goes wrong.
Camera is not for me but nice find for £199, well done!0 -
Thanks to condyk (original poster). I agree, the Panasonic FZ3 is a very good camera, and £199.99 (£207.98 with postage) is an excellent price. I also can't think of a better 'all round' digital camera for £200 at present. Other £200 cameras may have more megapixels, but not the 12x Leica zoom lens plus image stabilisation. Extra megapixels aren't much use to you if the image is blurred due to camera shake, or you can't zoom in close enough to give a decent sized image in the first place.
I have ordered one - hope there are enough in stock!People are more important than things0 -

I called them and they refused point blank to match the price. Said they couldn't get anywhere near it. I have ordered two to sell on locally and will put any profit towards a FZ5 LOL!!0
