Desire, Desire HD or Galaxy S?
Options
which one should I go for?
I was waiting on the desire HD coming out then was going to decide between that and the desire. Went into phones 4 u today (just for a look) and the guy went on and on about how the galaxy S is sooo much better, funnily enough he couldn't give me a reason why.

The Desire HD is the best one out of the three. Don't listen to these shop assitants tell you, they run heavily on a commission based income.0

I have the original Samsung Galaxy and I'm due to upgrade in February, I'm going to be extremely wary of getting another Samsung phone as they pretty much gave up on the Galaxy (and those customers who paid a premium for it... £100 up front on a £35/18m contract!) straight away, they never released much in the way of updates for it and left tons of first time Android users with a bitter taste.
Personally I'll be going for an HTC phone over a Samsung phone if I'm going to be making a decision between 2 similarly spec'd phones, but I've heard equally great things about the Desire, Desire HD and the Galaxy S.0 -
the built in memory of the htc devices is rubbish
you'll have to partition your app downloads to the memory card pretty much straight away
did he seriously not know that? i work in the mobile industryWho remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0 -
HTC brought out the Desire HD to compete with the Galaxy S so they are much the same. There are pros and cons for both but you will pay a premium for the Desire HD as its just out.0

they took their off the ball with the desire hd, too much effort putting out the white elephant with a memory card slot, i mean hd7Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0

ok i have owned the desire for 1 week and now own the galaxy s. The galaxy s has a better battery marginally, a better screen, desire has a better UI, some of the bad points- the galaxy s has gps problem, and a bit of lag, the htc desire and now the desire hd have a random reboot problem where the phone randomly reboots whilst using. there are many videos of this on youtube, also the phone suffers from a overheat problem eg on my handset that is why is ent it back after 1 week. Also i have found samsung cs quite good they sent me a spare battery free and replaced my headphones 7 times but they are still faulty so they sent me a cheque for £25 to buy my own pair!!0

Froyo update due 11 -11-10 should fix this but note not all phones have this problem .

Although I don't doubt that there's been a problem with some Desires rebooting I have a Desire for 6 months and never encountered this. I have six friends who have also bought Desires over the past few months(after being impressed by mine) and to my knowledge none of them have had this problem either. This could just be a dodgy batch. Worth checking out though.0 -

Couldnt agree more, samsung are shockingly bad at follow upsupport and updates.
That and the touchwiz UI is awful.0
