I also paid by switch and contacted clydesdale bank who were most unhelpful and informed me that as i did not pay by visa or did not receive any goods i could not put in a chargeback claim. I have asked for a complaints procedure to process for their unhelpful attitude towards this manner. So much for friendly bank service. If it had been other way around I am sure it would have been different.
  • As some of you may know http://www.unfairpak.co.uk/forum/ have uncovered some very interesting information regarding Farepak's demise (as has this site)

However one member of Unfairpak's forum has started a petition (backed by Frank Field MP) to give to Halifax Bank of Scotland demanding they give us our money back as they were the ones who refused Park's 3 offers to buy Farepak (the last being 7 weeks before the administration order was made). If they had accepted the offer, we would all have a Christmas to look forward to.

Please sign the petition & send it to friends & family, especially those who have been affected.

Here's the link - please sign it;)

  • hi.

The local consumer programme in wales run by the BBC called X-ray has this update on their website.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/x-ray/allarticles/stories/6p10_farepak.shtml

it explains that the Abbey, Co-operative bank and Alliance and leicester are giving money back to people who payed on their visa debit cards.

Unfortunately for me i payed by standing order from an A&L visa debit account, but because i didn't pay on my card i can't claim nothing back.

I thought this information may be useful to some of you.

    Good luck all.

    Leighton.

Yes same here paid standing order from a+l account,no claim for me neither:(
  • Just heard on GMTV that the pack that the government were going to do to help us will not be happening because it would cost more money then they thought:mad:
One of the reasons being too that they could never trace all the customers as dealt with through as agents. So why could they not give a percentage to all agents of their total order which could then be split evenly between our customers.
Olympic bronze challenge-started 7/1/06-total so far is £194.30

At the end of the day the !!!!!!!s that stole our hard earned cash have got away with it.
  • Just watched GMTV, I agree with sandhabibi why not give a percentage to agents to give their customers rathers than nothing at all
  • Have just read the statement on the british retail consortiums website and I am disgusted. Before they opened their mouths and offered to make a "substantial committment" they should have checked they knew all the information about the situation. Talk about salt in the wound.......
  • Can anyone else let me know if they are having trouble having funds paid back by their credit card company. My sister made a payment this way and her cc company is being very difficult. I have written a letter for her sending copies of statements, email from administrators and even a quote from the financial ombudsmans website re this process but they are still being blatant that they can only dispute the amount paid through them. Is anyone else having similar problems or has anyone received their money back through a cc company. I would be interested to know.

    Thanks
