    Hey Billy

Just wondering, in regards to your btl ideas, do you think you will go for a terraced 2 up, 2 down or an apartment type property.....

The whole thing is giving me headaches at the moment trying to decide what to do for the best.

    thx, L

    Hi Twiddy,

It's cheap, cheerful and, with the best will in the world, pretty reliable. Nothing that we've ever bought from Ikea has fallen apart in the last seven years so I can't say anything particularly bad about it. I'm not sure why we feel as though we'd need to go and kit the big house with fancy, expensive furniture. I'll blame Ikea themselves for marketing to the lowest common denominator deliberately. They need to sort out their own marketing department as they're clearly underselling themselves!

    Cheers,

    Billy

Sorry Tilly but couldn't resist, but is this a tongue-in-cheek statment or are you actually talking about tool boxes? :rotfl:

Tickled me reading it back to myself whilst catching up on the thread....

    Cheers

Best be careful with the innuendo allegations. Tilly might well be back to give you one!

    Thanks newgirly,

I'm hooked with it. Surely if you're selling your house, you at least have a bit of a declutter. Some of the listings are disgusting.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Maybe they HAVE decluttered :eek::eek::eek:

    Hi Lulabelle,

I'm not at all sure. Flats are significantly cheaper but bring in just a bit less rental income. I imagine the additional risk of damage and the additional insurance costs balance out some of that gain though. At the moment, we're looking at terraced and semi-detached houses but we'll take a lead from the letting agent after Wednesday's meeting. Friday is the bank and, by the end of the week, we'll know where we stand financially, what we should be targeting and what we'll need to take into account. Next week will see us properly kick off the property hunt.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hiya Gally,

If that's post de-clutter, there's no hope for them! Surely the implicit message that these folk don't give a damn about the state of their house would lead anyone to have second thoughts about buying this for fear of what may lie beneath! I was going to go for "minging" but thought our English friends may not understand the vernacular.

Billy, it's definitely minging.... Impossible to believe that people would have the cheek to put a property for sale in that state......

Will look out for updates in regards to your b2l progress.

Did anyone see the house that had an indoor/outdoor fishpond? They had literally taken out the back wall and there was a HUGE pond in the living room, I think I may have to go and look for the link!
