Hi to all, now Twiddy, what was it you were saying about toolboxes...... I will have you know DHs is well stacked in my opinion,
And Mr Billy, we southerners in little England can cope with mingin, plus a few others besides.
Been missing in action today so not able to respond, but Newlygirl, why are you sending everyone pics of my house........only joking. I am really not sure how people can live like that.xxx
Back to Twiddy, I live in a reasonable house and I am pretty certain Ikea could use it as a show room if they liked...mugs, crockery, Pong (poang) chairs, the bedroom furniture I have already told you all about, our DD bed, bedside table, I had better not go on, otherwise I may need them to pay me for marketing. It does the job, lasts reasonably well, I just have to hope and pray DH can handle the allen key, or as he has just shouted to me, the wood glue and hammer!

I love Poang chairs and I have 8 Billy bookcases.
Does that make me an IKEA fan?Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

Hi US,
We're all about the Billy bookcases but 8 would come close to filling the entire upstairs. This one, if and when built, will be our fourth. I'll need to check out the chair...

Hi Twiddy,
Ikea and MSE clearly go hand in hand. I think it's likely that we'll have a number of folk who are into both.

Hi newgirly,
I have to say that's not nearly as bad as I had expected it to be. Still wouldn't have it in the big house but I can see that it might appeal to some folk - not enough to make it sell obviously!! Fishpond aside, I quite like the look of the place - anyone for a BTL in Nottingham?!

Evening All,
A very good day today and progress all round. Had the strategy meeting at work which didn't go down brilliantly as some hard truths were necessarily shared but it was necessary and now gives a clear platform to build on. In the immortal words of Yazz (Moyra's favourite Hangman puzzle), the only way is up....baaaby! (baaaby optional in formal meetings naturally...
Finally got my new Stores Assistant nailed. Really good guy who can bring a lot to the Company. If I can bring in my new Service Desk Analyst by the end of the week, we'll be back at full strength.
Away from work, the big news of the day is that we may have land! There's a plot up near Falkirk which is at the top end of our current budget but it does comprise 5 acres. It may be converted into a 1 or 2 big house(s) project which we need to discuss with friends of ours who are also looking to build. Decent sized plot, great views all round, plenty of room to work with and ideal location. We're going to have a wee look at the weekend (although Moyra is all for grabbing a flashlight and heading out there now...) so watch this space - we could go from mortgage free to mortgage-heavy with a squalor, a nice bit of land and a BTL property in the space of a fortnight. Seeing the letting agent tomorrow and the bank on Friday.
On moneysaving news, I noticed on HUKD that Farmfoods were selling Orange Powerade at 10p a bottle instead of the normal 89p. Cue my toddling along the street at 8:50am this morning with 59 bottles of the said sugary goodness. I haven't tried it yet but I'm under threat of death from Moyra that "I'd better bloody like it because I'm drinking it either way".
Cheers,

Hi Billy, that is such brilliant news. Good news and I/we hope Moyra loves the plot.
