Tsi bong bong Froggy,
it has done for Moyra. Not for me though unfortunately. I think I contributed a whole $40 to the fund yesterday! Shopping budget is now a more healthy $1,545. Shopping starts in earnest tomorrow and still 5 days to add to the fund...

Morning All,
Seeing as I'm up bright and early again (I'll doubtless adjust properly to Vegas time just in time to come home - definitely back to 3 weeks next year!), I've been having a wee look at the finances. During the holiday, we've managed to get the acquired debt down to the planned £5k. Our credit card bill is sitting at £2k but will doubtless be tapped a wee bit further with the hotel cost and shopping if necessary. The grand plan at the moment is to completely clear our credit card with July salaries and clear off the acquired debt in two £2,500 chunks at the end of August and September. Hope springs eternal...
Cheers,

Morning All,
Back safely - let the bizarre sleeping patterns begin!
From a gambling budget of $4,000, we ended up "winning" $3,200 Which paid for Moyra's shopping (excluding a last day £200 in Abercrombie & Fitch) so all is likely to be well with the money. I'll know more on Monday when I dust the SOA off...

Morning All,
Bizarre sleeping pattern 2 - Billy 0!
Seeing as I'm up and about though, I thought it best to try and be productive. Sorted Moyra's car insurance for the year (I'm now the policy holder to make sure I don't lose my no claims bonus - we'll swap each year whilst i've got the company car) and, for the first time in nearly 7 months, got the credit card into credit. The plan was to have our credit card fully paid off and the acquired debt down to £5k by the start of July. We've gotten there at the end of July so we'll definitely now clear all the debts by the end of September which will let us start building the land / car / kitchen pots.
Being a sucker for punishment, I've got the mother to book an appointment with her bank on the 12th of August. She's 49 on the 31st of August and is desperate to be mortgage free ASAP. She has a mortgage of around £30,000 and a loan (@10.49%!) with £6,000 outstanding. The hope is that we'll be able to sort her a remortgage to couple these together and which will let her be completely debt free by 54 or 55. I've worked through her finances with her and she can afford to do it (just) but we'll be there to back her up if she struggles a wee bit at any point. We're going to have a crack at PPI reclaiming campaign for her starting this week as well - nothing to lose there!
Hope everyone is well.
Cheers,

Danke Froggy,
Bizarre sleeping pattern 3 - Billy 0 as expected. Jet lag is properly no good to man or beast!
Has my official birthday bash yesterday as everyone wanted to mark my 30th despite me being away on the 19th. Had a grand time, a load of food which I'm pretty sure has added a couple of inches to my waistline within a day and got a shedload of presents which is always grand. Moyra had arranged 30 individually wrapped and confetti filled presents which would appeal and every one was brilliant. I'll need to step up for her 30th in October with something a wee bit special.
More progress on the money front. Moyra's mum and dad got their PPI money through which has cleared their other credit card so we'll hopefully start getting the planned £250 per month from August onward which would clear their debt to us in 5 years. The £5k we still owe to the acquired debt will begin being knocked off in the middle of this month. I received a nice wee £183 from the tax man yesterday as a rebate but I do intend getting back on the professional membership fees piece this month to add to the fund. I get a wee bonus from work for completing an exam which works out to about £200 after tax and I've got my appraisal in the middle of the month which will be an interesting one as I really don't know what to ask for this time around. Moyra has suggested asking for land as a bonus!
Also received notification that my student loan is down under £10,000. The SLC are ripping just under £200 a month from me just now which means that, as it currently stands, it'll probably be paid off in 5 years or so. If it ever makes sense just to knock it off in full, I'll look at doing so but the interest just now is so minimal it doesn't seem worth doing just now. Moyra's is about the same so we can't really claim to be totally debt free until those are gone but I don't worry too much about them.
Cheers,

Hi Lois,
No luck as yet I'm afraid. I did manage an extra 25 minutes which took me to 3am this morning but I'm back at work today which should take away the temptation just to nod off (hopefully!) and I've got the gym and a swim sorted for later in the day which should see me through to around 8. I think I cope less well than most for some reason as Moyra, her sister and her auntie are all back in the swing of things.
Cheers,

Ahoy Billy!
When is your yearly review? Will you ask your boss for a piece of land or will you go for pure hard cash?
Any idea when the cargo is delivering the contents of Moyra's Vegas shopping spree?
Cheers
