Cleaning glass ceramic hob

We have a razor blade in a holder which removes stubborn food residue. But I get quite good results using a metal scourer and liquid detergent - it doesn't seem to cause significant scratches.0

When I had a lovely Jackson topline ceramic cooker ( left behind when we moved ,worse thing I ever did) I used to use a little jif creme cleaner on a soft cloth to clean it up. I loved my ceramic cooker and only wish that I still had one, best cooker I ever had.0

Well, I got a new cooker recently and the first time I used it I let a pot of potatoes boil over leaving a nasty brown ring around the hob. (no smart comments please!)
I tried several things with varying amounts of success. Hob Brite cleaned most of it away, dettol surface cleaner and vinegar made little impact whatsoever and as a final, last desperate attempt to remove what was left of the mark, I used CIF cream and a paper towel.
Worked a treat and restored the hob like new!
I don't know what the long term effects will be using CIF, but it certainly did the business. :j0 -
Yo dudes,
I accidentally boiled over some BBQ sauce and the weekend and now one of the rings on my hob is stained/marked....
How can I shift this stain, thus far I've not had any luck with hob brite or normal kitchen cleaner....{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
I came across this tip recently when I wanted to clean our cooker's ceramic hob as it has become marked.
Make a thick paste of Cream of Tartar (used in recipes such as scones) and water and brush it over the mark, leave it overnight, then just clean it off. It should get rid of the mark, if not try repeating the process.
I hope this helps. It worked for me : )0 -
Thanks, I'll give that a go....{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
