Council Housing - Rant

I agree, this is my problem, with the "!!!!less families". I do not dislike the people as such... and reading these comments has helped. I think I dislike the system in which it makes it all too easy for the "!!!!less families" to continue leeching.
.......However, it seems that the communities are spiralling in a viscious circle and I was more intrigued with gaining an understanding of my initial perception (with just one community, not the entire council living population).
To make such sweeping generalisations as you have is the act of a politician!0 -
Amnesia: Are you from UK/British?? Your posts indicate a travelled life with contacts in various other countries (nowt wrong with that..)?? Still you/partner claiming benefits??0

I just cannot agree with this comment at all.
Are you saying that people who can't afford a nicer house or a child do not work hard enough? Geez... sometimes it's not your choice you know. I work 40 hours a week and sometimes even more due to workload, but I had a paycut 2 years ago and salary has been frozen since then.
It's not my choice/fault that I can't afford better things, it's not that I don't work hard either...0 -
or u could be completely wrong and making superficial judgements on too little evidence?0

Amnesia: Are you British/from UK>??? And is your partner still in Benefits???

Yes I am 'UK/British'. I do have a very travelled life, with links to a range of cultures across the world (not by heritage).
Nope, Partner nor I claim benefits.0 -

Inadvertantly maybe - but ambiguous. Do you or your partner receive any benefits? Your post reads as if your partner does claim benefits.0 -

I don't think that's what LilacPixie was getting at - (s)he simply said if you are unhappy with your lot, do something about it.0 -

If you are complaining that people who live in council houses seem to have nice lives & nice things, well, why not?? We are all entitled to the good things of life..
What about the good old British traditions of decency, tolerance & fair play??
Cheers!

This thread is hard to make head or tail of as so much has been deleted but i take issue with this statement
"We are all entitled to the good things of life.."
we are not entitled to anything. If you want the good things in life you have to work for them.
We are all entilted to a roof over our heads and our basic needs met by the state if we fall on hard times but the rest should be achieved by our own hard work.0
