Hi Ross01 (sorry lambysmaby for hi-jacking the thread).
I am a British Citizen, lived in the UK from birth until I was 54, then went to live in Spain (just over two years ago). I am at the moment a Spanish Resident.
However, within the next 3-5 years, I intend to spend around seven months a year in the UK.(which will make me UK Resident). I still have a house and various bank accounts in the UK (and am actually still visiting a UK dentist once a year!).
Would I have the same problems as lambysmaby if I were to apply for JSA? I will be around 58 by this time (2 years from retirement). Or will they take the fact of my house and bank acounts as evidence that I am now again resident in the UK?
Thanks(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
you get your ni number when you are 16, on a card. mine never came thru, had to send off my id and got it thru i knew it just wanted to have it on the card as the numbers are similar and the same. if you left uk 5 years ago , you would have had a ni number before then, doesnt matter if your mum didnt claim benefits, my mum didnt i still got mine. where you registerd at birth do you have a birth certificatei will be debt free, i will0

In any case you should make a joint claim for JSA if you are partners. You won't be able to claim Income Support because it needs to be a joint claim, which would be Jobseekers Allowance.lambysmaby wrote:TURNED DOWN FOR JSA
