I think you shoudl probably apply for Income Support. I've got a feeling you don't qualify to apply for JSA, unless you've recently left your job, for whatever reason, and have paid the relevent number of NI contributions.
You can apply for Income Support online.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

I take it you havent got any finicial intrests abroad such as property, or a business?
are u registered with a GP in the UK now, have a uk bank account?
these things can to go towards determining that you are a permant uk resident and your centre of intrest is the UK, how long have u been back?
Have they given you a reason why you are not entitled? u can appeal against the decsion.
Are you able to meet the qualifiying conditions, its got nothing to do with not being workin or left a job as ive processed claims for people who have been on IS for years and then come to claim JSA, the gov wants people to be actively seeking work rather than being on IS,we are in the process of getting people of IS and IB and on to JSA to get them back in to work
like it was said earlier in the thread u could apply for Income support0 -
nope no bussiness or anything like that, no im not yet regestered with a G.P
, and i dont have a bank account as yet, i have been back since the 17th sept0 -
With regard to whether you are habitually resident, the key things that will be looked at is whether you are making the UK your long term home. Issues such as not being signed up with a GP, no UK bank account will all go against you. Also if you had children, are they in school would be relevant.
Were you told why JSA had been declined? It could be due to the fact at you don't pass the habitual residency test, it could also be because you voluntarily left your previous job. You would then be sanctioned for a period of time."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0
