Congratulations on getting your job in Switzerland, Fixx. I'm thinking mountains, fresh, crisp mountain air, meadows, Swiss chocolate... lovely.
I went late night shopping yesterday which included a planned visit to Boots. I'd got some money off vouchers to use and wanted to take advantage of the 342 bath indulgence offer. I used a £5 off skincare voucher (obtained after buying £5 of phone top up), a half price Elle Macpherson voucher and a £3 off Sanctuary voucher. I hadn't worked out exactly how much my shop would come to and when the SA said £4.48 my only thought was I'll buy some chocolate to make it up to £5 so that I can get another skincare voucher. I carried on shopping elsewhere but started to think that I'd been overcharged in Boots and so I had a look at my receipt and realised that the half price Elle Macpherson voucher hadn't kicked in because that item had been counted as the free item. I went back to the shop, saw the SA who had served me and explained the situation. I outlined to the SA why the voucher hadn't kicked in and suggested that she refund my card with the cost of the original sale and put through the items and vouchers again, but this time I would replace one of the items with a slightly cheaper one so that the Elle Mac item would become the middle priced one to enable the half price voucher to kick in. She was very sweet and accommodating but had a rummage in the till and couldn't put her hands on my coupons. She ignored my suggestion but gave a lot of thought to how to remedy the situation. She ended up refunding me one item and half of the price of the Elle Mac product. It seemed a bit odd to me at the time but I trusted her to get it right. The end result was that I was originally charged £5.10 and she ended up refunding me £8.60 . At the time I felt that I'd done well out of it but didn't realise quite how well until I studied the receipts when I got home!
So I've ended up with 3 'purchases' to add to the stash:
Elle Macpherson Foot Butter (I can sort of justify this as I only have one other foot lotion plus a foot gel which I will only use in the summer).
Sanctuary Deep Cleanse Facial Fresh-Faced Purifying Wash (can't justify this at all except to say I like Sanctuary products).
Deadsea Source Indulge Monoi Shower Cream (will be used as part of a Xmas present for someone).
The store I went into sells Clinique but the mascara swap promotion had finished. I've ended up chucking the mascara I took with me as it's drying up - it was a 17 Infinite Lash Defining Mascara in Brown. WIBA? No! I'm very fussy about mascara and I never felt as though this one was silky enough, plus I prefer black to brown.0 -
Sorry to make you feel old EH, espescially as I'm 32  :rotfl:.
Still no progress made. I have been perusing the boots site today to see what I can get for pressies but it seems that no7 is on one of it's rare not 3for2 times. Anyone know when it goes back on?
I need to get another mascara out. It's going to be a GWP size and I think it's my last in stock. I'm getting BiL No7 cream if I manage to get it on 3for2 or shall decide to get the GWP? It will have a mascara in it. Hmm, see . I wish you lot had left me in complete ignorance of bootsing :rotfl:. I had no idea when I came on here, I was a boots virgin.
Right, cheerio.

I know I've done the same kind of thing Rosemary.
I am the queen of traipsing around town to find the cheapest nail varnish remover and being thrilled to find that Wilkos is cheaper at 97p than Savers at 98p and the 99p shop at er.. 99p.
Then coming home and buying £40 worth of shower gel on QVC or something without even blinking an eyelid. They're both on special offer so to my warped brain they feel the same!
So you can feel silly my lovely, but don't feel alone. I expect we've all done it at times.
And just think, should there ever be a global shortage of soap you'll be sitting pretty won't you?:D

I had just decided that I would only buy Touche eclat and nothing else before December, when I got emails about another £10 of points for spending £50 in Boots, and an amazing Bliss GWP from uniquebeauty, for spending £35 on Bliss bits. I'm sorely tempted - I love their sage and lemon body butter... it's still an insane amount of money for a body lotion though. I've left the emails in my inbox while I brood over it...
Move away from the email! Unless you really need to replenish your staff because you have run out, it is a good offer however you'd be very likely buying stuff you don't really need or will be using in a year or 2 just to get £10 to spend on more stuff that you'd be using in 1 or 2 year. Keep the cashMFW on your mark0 -
Hehe, thanks Lemontree and Karom, I have now deleted both emails!
Those marketing tricks get me everytime!
Congratulations, Fixx, btw - the new job sounds wonderful!

Me again - just ordered my Touche eclat online for £17.50 (inc p&p) rather than the £24 I was going to pay in town today, so feeling even more virtuous!
Must now step away from the laptop....0 -

.............and men in little leather shorts.....well, maybe not, actually!!:D
Hello ladies!
Had 4 x £5 Boots vouchers burning in my hot little hand last week. My little Boots is pretty feebly stocked and I was determined to resist the utterly pointless purchase of 4 packs of £6.75 face wipes. Anyway, remembered the deal is on No 7 Mens stuff too, so got 3 of the No 7 men's toiletries for a fiver with 3 vouchers instead of about £20, which will do for DD's BF for Xmas. Quick thinking eh?!!! (for a change!!)
 :A Threw away the other voucher :A  :rotfl:
Goodies in were birthday pressies, so no spend from me there. Some Gucci Guilty perfume, pure essential oils and some hair goodies.
Have been making do with the dregs of stuff for quite a while now. Am out at a get-together next wekend with some friends I haven't seen for a long time, so am warning you now, there's going to be some product buying involved in advance of it, (although I do have some birthday money).............!
I am good though , mostly!0 -
Ooh where where where? I need one!
I got mine from feelunique.com - I found the site randomly when I wanted to buy a decleor set, and it emailed me last night with the Bliss offers. It also has Elasticizer quite cheaply and with free P&P. I was a bit dubious as to how it could be so much cheaper, but the decleor set was delivered promptly and there was a free sample included, so I thought it was worth another whirl!
Btw, I think they're currently out of Shade 2 of Touche eclat, hopefully it's not the one you need!
Belated happy birthday, Bronnie!0
