When I was round there the other night helping her work out the core beauty items she needed to keep I made another sneaky list of the beauty basics she's getting low on so we've all clubbed together to make her up a basket of the kind of bits and bobs that we all need - mostly from our stashes - but there were a few things I had to go and buy. We can't really help her with most of her worries, but making sure she doesn't run out of beauty essentials - that we can do!
I've also told her that whatever of her beauty stash that ends up at my house she can come round and use whenever she wants. She won't, in practice, but I think she feels happier having her stuff sort of "within reach" rather than sold to a stranger on eBay.
Awww, that's so nice of you :A.0 -

Thank you sweetie. We just all feel so bad for her, and being horribly spoiled we think not being able to afford toiletries is tantamount to poverty is a society which has certain expectations of what a woman should look like.
I never go out and about without my face on and my hair done. (except for my early morning walk but I hate other humans being around when I do that!)Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
And,however bad you are feeling-you always feel a whole heap better once you have some make up on!Just had a Vie party, and the hostess sais she isnt suffering a result of the recession-as she said, make up is the one thing us women keep buying, whatever the economy is doing!
Your friend Jacks is lucky to have friends like you rallying round for her-have a good night and fingers crossed she isnt out of work for longx
Have a good weekendx:j0 -

hi everyone, just found the new thread.
I finally used up the Lemon Boots hair and body wash, it was pretty good, lasted ages and smelt nice. Probably would use it again but it was part of a gift set so not sure if they still sell it, anyway still have loads of sanctury body washes to use up. started on a bottle of Dove that i opened about 3 years ago, my skin doesn't really like it as it has lanolin in but it's going to get used up come hell or high water. I'm also trying to use up a deodrant which i think is 'one planet' i don't like it which is why it keeps going to the back of the shelf but i WILL finish it and get rid of the can.0 -
Ah so sorry to hear about your friend Jacks. I know what a worrying time it must be for her. She's really lucky to have such amazing friends though! And as my grandma always said....the most important things in life are the people around us. I hope it all works out for her soon xx
I've got a UU today. A Decleor essential balm sample. WIBA? Definitely not for a while....I have LOADS of these! I'm ashamed to say that I buy this so often that the Decleor girl now knows me by name and gives me lots of samples every time I go in. I might buy some more once I finally use up all my products as I do love this balm (but I think this could take a while!)
Also might share my disaster story. Trying to use up my Decleor eye creams. Normally these are fine for my sensitive skin. However last night I used as normal (for the first time in ages) and it stung a little. Wiped it straight off but woke up this morning with red panda rings round my eyes. SO embarrassing for work. Couldn't even concealer it cos it was too sore. Luckily I frequently get dodgy eczema patches on my face so I think people just assumed that was what it was and they were all too polite to mention it! So does anyone have any good alternative uses for eye creams?? Really want to use these up but they're not going anywhere near my eyes again!!
Hope everyone has a fantastic bonfire night/Diwali/weekend! xx0 -
I've been having a nosy on grabbit this morning (I know, very naughty, but looking out for good deals for xmas pressies) and I saw the superdrug offer on the John Frieda hair dye - and it's been so hard to resist! The thing is, I got a free one to try, and while it was fine, I didn't think it was any better than any other brand you can get in the £4-5 range. So buying it for £6.66 isn't that great a deal for me, but I'm suckered in by the free travel set - made up of shampoo and conditioner that I've tried and tested and know I don't really like! Help, why do I want this set?! it's a complete and utter waste of money for me:rotfl:
It's the lure of the freebie... You will feel so much better if you resist! Tell yourself there will be another offer along soon that you will love and that you will wait for that one! Or put that amount of money on one side to go towards your next purchase of Tigi.

Stay strong, you are attracted by the freebie; tell yourself you do not need it
Normal behaviour I use to apply to all the freebies but why would I ask for nappy freeby if I don't have any kids :rotfl:MFW on your mark0 -
Went into Boots this evening for a wander around as I wanted to have a look at their Christmas sets and actually came out because I was bored:eek: - this thread is having a serious effect on me!!! If only someone would start a 'no buying chocolate till you've lost two stones or at least until you can actually fit into the clothes you own' thread I'd be laughing:rotfl:0
