My lurcher is finally starting to get the idea of catching bunnies so I'm looking for lots of rabbit recipes in the hope that he will actually catch a few and I can make some meals for us and for the freezer.
All recipes appreciated :T

My cat is a serious hunter, and yesterday he presented me with a very fresh looking rabbit - bright-eyed and unmarked. Certainly not a myxy bunny.
It's currently in the oven, cooking with red wine and onions. But I have a lurking concern that there was no sign of how he killed it. There were no wounds and I don't think the neck was broken. My husband says they are usually throttled. The meat looked lovely and smelt fine when I jointed it, and said cat has had some bits and pieces and looks well.
So - should we eat it in hour?0 -
Oh dear - rather you than me. But I think that's just me and my queasiness regarding eating rabbit in general.
I distinctly remember it being on the menu for tea the same day that my beautiful 'Snowy' bunny died
. I've never knowingly eaten it since that day .......
Seriously though, if there's no sign of HOW the rabbit died, I'd be a bit concerned. At least 'a wound'/'sign of injury' lets you know that it was a 'clean kill' and not illness .....0 -

That would be enough to put anyone off. I've never kept pet bunnies, so I don't have an emotional relationship with them. Don't think I could manage guinea pig though.0 -
            I'd eat it :j0
