Hello super savvy old-stylers!
I wondered if you could help me? I made a rabbit stew in the slow cooker today and had to cut the meat off the carcass beforehand because the OH is fussy about all the "gristly-bits" in any meal. I now have all the bones in the fridge - am loath to chuck them out as they still have meta on them.
Is there anything I could do? There is probably broth but does anyone have some more exciting suggestions?

Pappardelle with rabbit works very well, & so cheap & easy to make also.
Then of course you can curry it or if feeling adventurous you can have it deep fried. Just smear the left over chunks with mustard, breadcrumb & deep fry. Lovely & crisp and very tasty served as a warm salad.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
You could use the bones to make a stock. Then reduce the stock and add whatever is left of the stew sauce and use it as a gravy over sausage and mash.
Or as a very nice base for a soup.
(my answer to leftover sauce of any kind is to pour it on like a gravy. lol)
By the way.....you took the meat off before stewing? wow you must have real patience. My family is lucky that I joint them.:rotfl:0 -

My lurcher is finally starting to get the idea of catching bunnies so I'm looking for lots of rabbit recipes in the hope that he will actually catch a few and I can make some meals for us and for the freezer.
All recipes appreciated :T0 -

Jamie Oliver does a brilliant Rabbit Ragu and BBC Food have some excellent rabbit recipes. Their garlic rabbit casserole and bunny burgers are favourites in our house.0
