just joined this tonight, tbh i searched for *computer processor power spare* in a way to make money:o back in 2004 there was a site that paid about 1/2 of a cent per hour not worth running PC just for that but harmless in background.

I have also created a moneysavingexpert team:rotfl:i didnt know about this one.

i can close mine if more people join yours and I will join you?

P.S How much internet usage does this use? Im limited to 40gb but if its the same as the old programme it doesnt use very much at all

I upgraded today with BT to unlimmited broadband as its only £5 more a month from what I was paying, and hald already used too much of my current usage limit for a couple of months which they said they wouldnt charge me for seeing as I upgraded.

Been running for a few hours today, but missed the updates midnight last night and noon today. Hope to catch it tonight midnight. One project is 75% done for my pc apparently and the other about 60%

Lets get promoting and spreading the word, the more that use it, the better for everyone!

P.S Im sure if enough people on MSE join, then we would be one of the largest teams, gaining a massive amount of points

I think their unlimited is 100GB, so better than my previous 40 GB lol I had to be on BT due to rented property, and BT FORCE you to go with them or pay £127.99 for the line to be re-activated at the exchange, plus their monthly line rental. hmph.

Yeah I know what you mean. Is there any part of the forum where we could post this and get more exposure?

Imagine if Martin included this in one of his weekly emails. Thats what needs to happen. If he used my/our team that would be awesome and thousands would join. Projects would take far less time, cheering each other on. Massive CPU amounts could be used whilst reading forums etc.

Thanks for your post in Site Feedback, and sorry for not replying sooner, several of the team have been off work recently due to bugs etc.
If you could alter the name so that it's clear it's not an official one on behalf of MSE that would be great - if we were going to do it a MSE team member would set up an official one. It's definitely something worth looking at for our Charity Giving guide though.

You keep your points, makes no difference if you belong to a team or not. For most projects (and there are dozens of them) your team only get the credit for points earned while you belong to that team, Climate Prediction is one where the team points move with you.

I've been contributing to the Community Grid site for several years and it gives me satisfaction knowing that my spare computer time is helping research into killer diseases. It takes no effort and uses insignificant processing and download time.

quit mine and joined your team. Please MSE look into this. We could change the numbers overnight! Projects would be done so much faster with msers on board. we could edit team name to official status if you look into it and use this team as the official one

have you been running the team for a while now? As the points for the team seem much much more than the points i have gained and i leave the laptop on 24/7 now I know how little power it uses. :money:

Ahh okay,, my pc runs 2 projects at a time. I have selected all projects. Have you chosen beta testing? It looks interesting. Takes priority over computing for projects, but speeds up the process of bringing out new projects, and also gives points etc
