DS2 went to his party, I have been to Mr T (ouch!) and am now chilling on here for an hour before I try and tackle some housework. Bitsy don't beat yourself up, as long as its clean enough to cook and eat and tidy enough to find a seat you are doing well!
Have a good afternoon all.xx
I too forgot you celebrate Samhain Hester, hope you and H have a pleasant celebration tonight
My mum and had have been over to help put up a blackout blind and curtain accross doorway to try and prevent the worst of the winter chilly air that blows down our stairway  My neighbour has the same problem so we think it's just the design of the house and how the air flows. Anyway if it helps keep us snug and warm at night so be it.
Pumpkins still not carved. I suppose I should go and tackle that next......

It looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel......speaking to the nurse and OH today it seems he might be home sometime next week, they are not going to put him onto the main ward but send him home. When I got there he was sitting out of bed sitting in the chair.
I decided to take his computer in for him, he can play games on it, have also taken the dongle so if he wants to he can get on the internet. He is having problems feeling sick, but I think its the medication, he has just a couple of days to go before they finish it, 12 days.
I was there early so came away early, traffic was not too bad......my supper is on, I am quite hungry.....going to have the evening watching TV.....my favourite singer has just been on TV, the first time I heard Russell Watson sing, it sent shivers down my spine, that saying the hair on my neck and arms stood up is very true.....it did.......his voice has deepend with age and a little morer weight, but he is still getting those wonderful pure top notes.........almost brought tears to my eyes......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

csarina, that's great news with your OH!
Will my BF ever learn?!
I managed to get a 2lb beef joint for £2.50 for dinner today. Last time we had a big chicken he assumed he could eat the whole thing, but I had a moan and he got a huge portion of meat, chicken sandwiches for us both on monday and chunky chicken stew!
Today, again he assumed that he could finish the whole joint!! One man cannot eat 1.5lb of beef!! It's just ridiculous and greedy really, when he could have a big double portion of meat today and tomorrow we can both have left over beef in gravy with mash and yorkies.
I ate some fairly raw garlic at lunch time and have spent the whole afternoon curled up feeling sick, so I have to crack on with all the chores this evening!
Found a simple and delicious looking recipe for a date tray bake which I shall have to try this week

Just had a phone call from mum, she has called the paramedics, and they have taken dad into hospital, since his fall he has got more and more confused, he thought he was in a hotel, and was trying to phone for room service, the paramedic asked him who the prime minister was and he said montgomery, they are worried that he has had a bleed in his head
, mum is going to follow on in her car, we will have the dog for the night, his chest is also black and blue where he fell, I know dad is in the right place, but i'm worried now, he hates being away from home at the best of times.
Positive thoughts needed if possible xx0 -
Bitsy and Hester - Hope you enjoy your celebrations for Samhain!
Csarina - Hope OH continues to improve, you will be glad when he is home.
DS2 has gathered his belongings and tootled back to Edinburgh ready to move into his new flat. That has given me more room in the garage. I have moved 4 'emergency' chairs (my old dining room ones that are now covered in paint, etc) up into the loft. Not sure I really need them but having trouble parting with them as DH and I saved long and hard for them when we were first married. Also had 2 large floor standing fans that have gone to the loft (the attic rooms got really hot in the summer when we first moved in 10 years ago but haven't used them for years, sod's law if I got rid of them we would have a very hot summer!). If I can get someone to help move the bed settee that is still in the garage there is a slim chance of getting the small car in. Don't know where it would go though.
A friend came with a trailer full of logs which will do us for quite a while, will have to order coal soon as that seems to be running low.
Hope you all have a good evening and the children enjoy dressing up tonight. Take care XX
ETA - Redruby, will be thinking of you and hope your dad is ok.0 -

Csarina - glad to hear that your OH is on the mend, its a good sign him sitting out in his chair x
Had a lovely roast pork lunch today and enough left for tomorrow so a good result! I hate having to cook on Mondays, it is always really bad at work after the weekend.
Just had our first trick or treat-ers, great costumes! When answered the door saw lots of littlies with parents on the way round. I do love to see their excited little faces when they come. DD2 prefers it when not many come so she can finish all the goodies:D
Right off to catch up with Merlin taped from yest. Have a good evening all
