.
thank you,
also what about my consultant do i need to speak to them aswell.
as getting an appointment with them before my next appointment at hospital is going to be very difficult.
i have told the truth on the form and my doctor should be aware of the difficults i face daily until i have my op.
but i will ask for an appointment with my gp asap0 -
you mention that your consultant thinks it may be a year til you return to work.
remember there is a difference between being unfit for work and having enough of a disability to claim DLA.
shouldnt you be on sickness benefit? (ESA)
and as a previous poster said....NOT claiming a benefit you are entitled to in order to maximise your hb, is farud0 -
its only fraud if you stand to benefit, as if i do claim benefits i stand to lose and also the goverment would be happy for me not to claim,
also i have a serious enough disability to claim dla as i have same problems as my dad and he has had dla for 15years.
esa is point to claim due to the fact im unable to work. where dla would be more beneficial due to me as it will allow me to recover and also try going back into work as dla allow you up 10 hrs a week work, so i could gauge when i would be able to go back etc0 -

DLA doesnt allow you 10 hours a week work,if you return to work while claiming DLA you can work as many hours as you like, providing you havent returned to work because your care/mobility needs have improved.
Despite what the govt may claim DLA isnt an "out of work benefit"0 -

might be an idea to write to the consultant letting him know you are claiming DLA and that they may contact him, explain in relation to DLA the care needs and mobility problems you are having.
btw Daz there is a thank you button:D0 -
that sounds like a plan, i will get a letter written tomoz and will get my partner to post it for me. im going to make an appointment with my gp aswell as i need my meds changing as i was rather ill with the new lot ive had, dizzyiness, sickness etc
and while im there ill mention to him about dla people etc. my docs room is up stairs with out lifts so normally he has to come down to me and see me in another room
i will keep you informed but what ive read online dla is really hard to get0 -
i wait to get shot down in flames lol
disabled people on the whole dont look for their lives to be made 'noemal' its never going to happen by the nature of their disability. ( im registered blind)
no monetary recompsense will ever compensate for what theyve lost.
i find it particulary repulsive that people see dla as a means to an end.
ie 'if i can get disability its the get out of jail free card!'
it demeans everyone with a genuine disability0 -

its not a get out of jail card, ive been off work with this for sometime and didnt want ot claim any benefits, but in the end i financially had to, if i didnt have to i wouldnt.
i do have a genuine disability. i cant walk very well, in pain every min of everyday. i cant sleep, i cant get dressed, cant even wash my self.
and there are alot of people out there with genuine disabilitys who cant get benefits. my mum was one of them, fibromialga , emthasymia, encephalitis and was deaf and she claim for dla for 4 years and got refused all the time.0 -
you lose the moral high ground when u chose to claim dla because it isnt means tested, but refuse to claim e s a because it is!0

You don't increase your chances of being awarded DLA by having a list of conditions; it always comes down to mobility and care needs.0
