Sorry to hear about your experience. With a TV or otherwise?

I never thought of that! I'll pop in on Monday to see my local JL, they're only up the road. Is that what you did? Did it work?

    Thanks for the idea!

I had a problem with a microwave oven - It was delivered broken twice! - suspect damaged in transit - could that be your problem? what is the problem. I got fed up with having to wait for deliveries only to receive damaged goods, so asked JL direct to arrange a replacement through my local store. They eventually agreed to do this, only to find that the store had discontinued the microwave and had no stock - hence the good price online. By this time they ran out on-line too, but because it was a good price, I didn't want a refund, so I waited until they got another one in stock. I also had a price discrepancy like yours, but they honoured the price.

Speak to JL online and the store and see what they can do. Are you sure it's a fault? I once bought an ex-demo DVD recorder from them which had a problem - I brought it back and they replaced it - whilst connecting the second one up I noticed a small switch at the back - flicking it, replicated the fault.

    Hey,

Bummer on bad delivery. I'd be narked after two microwaves as well as a replacement DVD-R!

I'm fairly sure it wasn't damaged in transit - the box was in excellent condition when it arrived. I think it's more a technical thing - the TV emits a buzz that I can hear 7 feet away when the volume is low-ish, especially silent. I don't think I could live with it so would rather nip it in the bud asap.

I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to get it replaced (fingers crossed) but it just makes me feel a bit unsure when I get mixed messages from the same company. Still, I know there are a lot more worse companies out there.

That's annoying. Is it a plasma - have you seen this - an old post, but may still apply -

Televisions have always emitted noises to some degree - problem is you only notice them when you get home.

i guess that you've tried searching your model number to see if this is a known fault

Yeah it's a plasma. Hadn't seen your link (thanks) but have been scouring that forum the last couple of evenings! I appreciate they all make noise - if I could only hear it when it's silent then I wouldn't mind. But because I can hear it at low volume I don't think it's on top form. According to other posters, Panasonic (my manufacturer too) have been having some sporadic problems with plasmas this year generally. Some have had replacement sets delivered and the problem was gone. Hoping for the same!

    Thanks alot.
