  • I've used Vistaprint many times and I've never had a problem.

That said, I actually read the T&Cs and did not sign up for the Plus account - which the OP clearly did. Therefore Vistaprint have actually done nothing wrong.

Please people, check you've not made a mistake yourselves before you start complaining on here!
I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.

I bought two lots of business cards from Vistaprint and although the original prices look tempting, by the time you go through the payment channel you end up with a hefty bill. I managed to avoid the trap that some people found themselves in, but unluckily my boyfriend fell victim to it. He hadn't realised what had occurred until his saw the bank statement and he hadn't received any email notifications or any services. He got his money back after one phone call. I had my details removed from Vista's site and I won't use them again.

It is easy to unknowingly fall for something when you are so trusting of a company. After all if you go into an actual retailers on the high street you don't have to read all of their T&C's before you pay, but on-line maybe we are in too much of a hurry and get caught out by the opportunists.

This is a particularly nasty form of marketing. Pretend that you are offering a bargain and then load up the cost, often sneakily.
  • I think the problem here is not so much with Vistaprint and its services, but more that people are getting lazy and not reading what they are signing up for. My husband and I own more than one small business and we have been using Vistaprint for years. We have never had a problem with any of our orders, we use a credit card for purchases and have never been charged anything extra, we are given excellent service and we get exactly what we have ordered every time. But then again, when ordering I check and re-check what we have ordered before I click that final button and I read everything twice. Vistaprint, in our view offers value for money, excellent prices and fantastic products and service. In fact, they are one of the cheapest for business cards and postcards that we have ever come across. We will continue to use their services well into the future. Thanks Vistaprint :j

I've used them for years, and always easily avoided any of these subscriptions by, y'know, avoiding ticking the box.

However, one sneaky thing I noticed recently... I used VP to design some christening invites. Worked out about £20 inc postage, so I navigated away to look for some voucher codes. When I came back, my basket price had increased. There were no extra items etc, but the price of the invites had gone up by about £4. I had a mess around and over about 15-20 minutes navigated away and came back several times, each time the basket price changed.

I got so fed up I ended up using Snapfish, and found a 40% off code for them, so it all ended up ok.

Shame, really, as VP was always my go-to :(

So what is the best alternative? I want to find the best value offer for some simple business cards. I thought vistaprint would be the best bet. But should I wait for a really special offer, I cant find anything cheap enough on their website. At the end of everything it was more expensive than I expected, even the free offers.
